Chapter 2

Today was the day, September 1st had finally arrived. Excitement flowed through the Hayes household.

Lottie hurridly slipped on her outfit of black skinny jeans, and a white top. She matched this with her usual leather jacket and her Dr Martin boots.

As she walked downstairs she smiled seeing her drunk by the door along with the cage that inhabitated her owl, who had yet to be named.

She kept her long dark locks down but curled.

"What time are we leaving?" Asked an excited Lottie as she placed more owl food into the cage, earning a few happy sqeaks from the small animal. "Youll be able to fly around when we get there i promise" she whispered to the caged creature.

"In around 5 minutes, we just need to pack up the car and then drive up to the station." She heard coming from the kitchen.

A sudden memory flashed over her that made her legs quickly shoot up the stairs. Lottie grabbed the necklace she had recieved short of 2 months ago and clasped it around her neck smiling proudly down at it as it pressed a cold feeling to her chest.

Afterwards she wandered downstairs and took hold of her things and walking to the car. She placed them in the car and placed the cage in the middle seat beside where she would sit.

A sudden sense of nerves flowed through the girl as she got into the car. After a few short minutes both her parents got into the front.

It wasnt long before they began to drive to London station. This would be the longest Lottie had been away from home. Hell she had never even been to a sleepover.

Before they knew it the car was parked into an empty space in the car park of the station.
The light breeze hit Lotties cheeks like a slap while she took out her things from the car.

As soon as her things were on the pushing cart she climbed ontop putting the caged animal in her lap.
A light gasp escaped Lottie's lips as they ran thowards the wall at the platform 9 3/4, but for her delight they didnt crash, they glided through to the magic world softly.

Smiles all round appeared. Children saying goodbye, animals squarking and parents weeping.
Lottie said her goodbyes and got onto the train after departing her bags to a man who placed them on board.

Wandering aimlessly down the carriageway, Lottie finally found an empty carriage. She sat down at the window seat and waved to her parents from the window.

Luckily for Lottie she wouldnt be bored for the train ride as the young girl had with her a side bag in which she kept many magazines and things she could do to pass the time.

Suddenly movement began, Lottie knew this as a sign as the train beginning to leave. She was thankful that she didnt have to share the carriage with anyone but she also slightly wished she had someone to share it with to make friends before they arrived.

A little into the train ride there as Lottie was well away into her book she heard a sudden 'ribbet..'

As she turned her head slightly she spotted a toad, now Lottie wasnt one of those that would go squeeling about something to minor. So she just picked up the toad in both her hands placed the animal down into her lap.

The owner of the toad became appearent as she tilted her head up to the sound of a voice. "Um excuse me have you see my to-" Before the voice could finish the sentence he noticed the toad sat upon the young girls knee.

The owner of both the voice and toad wandered inside and picked up the toad. "Hi, I'm Neville by the way, Neville Longbottom" he spoke proudly sitting down opposite her with his toad in his arms.
