BLOOD. ALL SHE saw was that dark crimson substance that drew her back into her crazed state. It was like that wretched day all over again.

It stained. It stained everything.

Her trembling hands could barely hold themselves as she stared at the now dried blood, sticking itself to skin. The red ichor had also smeared across her face, the deep crimson accentuating the paleness of her skin. It was sticky. She felt disgusting.

Disgusted with herself.

All she saw was red. Red. Red. It blinded her vision until she no longer was aware of her own actions. In the moment, nothing else plagued her thoughts. Nothing other than vengeance and pure resent. And now? Now it was nothing but remorse and pure grief.

The girl's legs caved in, collapsing beneath her. Tears welled up in her kale hues. Koari was gone. And it was her own fault.

And now that Kaori was gone, so was she.
