Silly little thing based on a photo I saw

She was beautiful. Her long dirty blonde hair flowing down her shoulders in waves and catching in the paper crown that sat on her head. The replica headpiece made from dull yellow cardboard almost got lost in her tresses: catching only the eye of the person who peered down at her from above. He tried to think of what people may have thought if they'd seen them right now in this moment - the two of them with matching headpieces. Would they think them self absorbed for thinking so highly of themselves to even dare wearing such a symbol of power, or, would they acknowledge them for who they were, two people simply in love.
It was her idea, her sentimental vision to show him just how much he meant to her. It was his birthday, and so when he was presented early that morning with the paper object gently placed onto his chest and her smiling sweetly at him, he had no choice but to get dressed and put the simple gift on his head; and after they had exchanged breakfast and small talk, he had the courage to ask for a photo, for the memory that he would surely want to look back on as the years pass.
He surprised her. While she thought that only 'he' got to wear the crown of endearment 'he' with all the artistic skill he could muster made sure to build her one too. And so, this is where are story starts and here is what happened after, to change their lives for the better.
