Today's the day

I'm going to do it. Today will be the day I finally ask her. I pick up the phone and begin to dial her number. My hand starts to sweat. God, am I really that nervous? The phone rings, then I finally hear her voice. "Hello?" She says. Man how I love her voice. "Hi". I reply, hoping my voice isn't cracking as I speak. "What's up?" She asked. "Well, I was wondering, do you want to meet up at the park later?" My grip on the phone tightens as I await her answer. "I'd love to". She replied. "Ah, great. I'll see you around 3:00 then". As I hang up the phone, I begin to panic. What should I wear? Is my hair okay? I scramble up to my mirror and quickly grab a comb, running it through my dark, tangled, hair. Zipping up my jacket, I walk out my front door and close it, not bothering to lock it. It's a bad habit, but that isn't my main priority right now. My main priority is being on time. I glance down at my watch, it's already 2:45. Crap, I better pick up the pace. As I tuck my chin into the collar of my jacket, I slowly look up to realize I'm already approaching the park. I run up to the closest park bench and sit on it, waiting for her arrival. I look around, no one there, no one over here. I look back down again until I hear a familiar voice speak. "You're early, huh?" I look up, there she is. She's wearing an army green coat, stonewash jeans, and gray snow boots. She looks more gorgeous every time I see her. "Yeah". I chuckle a bit, feeling slightly embarrassed. She takes the open seat next to me. She's sitting very close, not that I mind of course. Her shoulder is touching mine. God, she makes it so tempting to not wrap an arm around her. "So, why did you invite me here?" She asked, swaying her legs back and forth as she looked at the ground. "Well, I wanted to ask you a question." She stopped swaying her legs and replied. "What is it?" She asked. She sounded so calm. "You see, I've been thinking". I say, my voice weary and filled with nervousness. "Thinking about what?" She asks. "I've been thinking, about you". I feel her shift slightly. "I've been thinking about everything to do with you". I say. I feel her shoulder press up against mine, even more so than before. "Really?" She asks. "Yeah". I reply shyly. Her warm hand grasps mine. I stiffen up, not expecting her sudden actions. "I've been thinking about you too". She responds. I turn to face her, and she does the same. I feel myself grow closer to her. She interlocks her fingers with mine. She is only inches away from my face. I feel my face heat up. She smiles and presses her nose against mine. "Can I be honest with you?" She asks. I nod. "I love you". She says. My eyes widen, and my face proceeds to grow warm. I squeeze her hand and reply. "I love you too".
