I roamed around the almost empty city of suwon late at night, no one was around and the the shops were closed, bars lingered open though, drunken strangers cat called any other lonely women on the streets, desperate for any validation back, but of course those who were cat called scuffed and continued to walk, and so did i, every night I walked to this specific place, where the unmoved trash cans aline to make a steady staircase, leading up to the roof of an abandon building, I always come here alone when I need silence, I live with my friend and her grandmother, and my sister, who is deaf, hospital bills and rent forced us to stay with my friend, she's so generous, and even after everything I've given to her, I still don't think I've fully paid her back
I sighed as I leaned back, looking up at the few stars that were in the night sky
"Heya! Y/n?" I looked down to see who called for me, it was my sisters doctor, she must've gotten off work late today, since it was around 10:40. I only said hello and looked back up at the sky. "You should go home soon, it's getting late and it's going to rain" she warned me, I just sighed as I started to head down. She handed me 10,000 won once I was down "take the subway, more creepy men come out at this time" I smiled "thank you" she nods "you're welcome, say hello to your sister for me " I nodded as she went her separate way, I headed towards the subway entrance
Once I got there, I looked down to see the subway that I needed to be on, I rushed down the stairs but I was too late, it had left, I sighed as I took a seat and took out my phone, scrolling though every random app I had, passing time, it didn't take long for someone to take a seat next to me, I took a small glance over at them, it was a guy, an attractive one, he put a brief case in between us as he look at me, he was also wearing a suit "'ma'am?" I fully looked over to him, he smiled "I have an offer for you" I gulped as he continued "if you beat me in a game of Ddakji," he opened his briefcase to show a pile of blue paper tiles and red paper tile, and two piles of 500,000 won bills "I'll give you 1,000,000 won, but if I win, you'll give me 1,000,000 won, I'll even let you go first" I can't give this up, I sighed and nodded, his smile somehow grew, he grabbed a red paper tile, and a blue one, I understood "r-" this is very important, I shouldn't try to be quirky "blue" he passed me the paper tile as we got up and he placed the red paper tile on the ground and nodded at me, I pinched the paper with my thumb and pointer finger, and hit the red paper tile, it didn't flip, I groaned as the man grabbed red paper tile, slammed it down, and flipped the blue tile, I looked down at the tile, shocked, before slowly returning my gaze to the man, who was looking at me "about the money..." I started "that's fine" I tilted my head "you can pay with your body" I felt my face turn red, and even more red when he slapped me "ow???!?" He smiled "with every won you can't pay, you can replace with a slap" I sighed "deal"
It's been half an hour, of me getting slapped, it felt as though my face was getting bruised, that was until it was my turn again, i slammed the tile as hard as I could, and, the red tile flipped! I silently cheered before putting my hand out, to shake his, but instead of giving me his hand, he gave me the 1,000,000 won, and a card "if you want to earn more cash, doing games like that, call this number" I hesitated "you live with your childhood* friend and her dying grandmother, both of them are in debt, you have a sister whose been to the hospital more times then you can count, you're in debt because your friend subtly forced you to pay years of rent" he smiled "what else do you have to lose?" then walked into the subway, the one I had to get on to get home
I thought about everything for a second, my parents, my friends, and my sister
I then took out my phone
*you do not have children, I just made a spelling mistake and accidentally left it for too long
