Jacob pulled into the school parking lot,

"I should've walked," I grumbled.

"Oh hush, it's not that bad."

"Whatever," I reached for the handle of the car door,

"Wait!" Jacob panicked and ran out and to my door. He opened it,

"There we go.."

"What a gentleman. Thanks," I stepped out,

"Stop being such a downer, Belle."

He began waking with me to the front doors of the school and opened it for me.

"Oh, thank you Mr. Guthree. How kind of you,"

He smiled and shook his head,

"Mr. Guthree?"

"Lets just get to class,"

"Wait... Belle?"

"Yeah?" I glanced back at him,

"Nevermind... Let's just go."

We walked into our first period and sat down,

"Ms. Jameson and Mr. Guthree, you two are rather tardy, wouldn't you say?" Ms. Jolle lifted her left eyebrow.

"Sorry, it was my fault. I drove her to school and was careless on our timing. I take full responsibility." Jacob said, I started at him in shock,
That was mature of him, I thought.

He smiled at me and winked. I shook my head at him and grinned. I turned my attention to the teacher as we got back to the history lesson.

"So, whose heard of the war of 1812?"

Several students raised their hands. I began to zone out, and soon enough the period was over.

Each class passed by quickly and soon enough, it was lunch. Jacob walked up to me,

"May I take you to lunch? As friends, I mean."

I looked around, "Yeah... I guess that's alright. I brought money."

"I didn't... Let's just go." Jacob gestured for me to go ahead of him. We headed to his car,

"Why don't you go have lunch with your friends?"

"You are my friend, you always have been," he stuck his tongue out at me. Jacob opened the door for me and I slid into the passengers seat.

He climbed in and started the car and we took off,

"Belle," he said as he looked straight at the road.

"Yeah?"

"I know it's been five years..." he gulped as I knitted my brows.

"What does this have to do with anything, Jacob?"

"I suck at this kind of stuff. Lets just go to lunch," he frowned.

"Oooooookay," I looked out my window, "So where are we going?"

"No idea, where do you want to go?"

"Surprise me," I shrugged.
