As I walk in, Liana greets me with a huge hug. I wipe my tears from my face and hug her back. This won't be Miss Hannigan, PHEW!
"Well, I have to get dinner started. Umm... Oh! Addilynn! Come show Zoe around. Thanks sweetie!" Then Liana walks away.
"Hi Zoe! I'm Addilynn!" She holds her hand out. I shake it
"How old are you? I'm five." She asks
"Really? Me too! We can be best friends!" right when I say that I want to take it back. I guess I was acting like a normal school girl meeting a new friend. But even though I was a five year old, I was very smart.
"Uh... I mean.... If you want to..." I say trying to be polite.
"Of course I would! We can share bunk beds! You can have the top bunk if you want to." Right then I have a brain fart and say
"Sure! Thanks Lilly! Uh I mean...." Lily was my old bestie at my old school.
"Addilynn," she giggles "but now that we're friends, you can call me Addy if you want."
"Oh, okay, I guess that's easier." I chuckle.
"I can already know we are going to best buds! Here I'll show you around!" She says. I already consider Addy as my new best friend.
"Kay!" I say. That's what Lily and I always said to each other.
******************************************After Addy shows me the whole orphanage, it's already time for dinner. I skip to the kitchen with Addy. Addy already introduced me to the other twenty something girls here. I hop on a seat next to Addy and I think another girl named Gabriella. Ms. Liana scoops each girl spaghetti and tomato sauce then each girl gets a meatball. Yum! I dig in right away, cutting the spaghetti the same way daddy used to.
