We hop in the car taking one last glance at the orphanage. Addy and I exchange looks and then we both know it's okay to move on. I start buckling my seatbelt when I hear a loud giggling.
"Stop!" Giggle "stop Jc!" giggle.
I look over to see a boy with brown hair and a SnapBack on (Jc, I'm assuming,) tickling the heck out of Addy. Jc stops and starts laughing with Addy. Then the best thing happens. Jc actually hugs Addy... And Addy hugs back! I just smile so bright that Connor notices and smiles back at me. I really like Connor so far.
The car comes across two big gates and Kian gets out with a card in his hand. He scans the card and the gates open. Connor continues to drive and we soon pulls into a driveway and Addy and I start gawking; it's a huge house. We walk inside to see 6 more people and Addy is showered in hugs. This is just so amazing I've never seen Addy so happy before. I stand smiling as the group comes toward me. I feel a tight tight hug that doesn't seem to let go. I look to see who's hugging me. As soon as he lets go of me, I find he has brown eyes and brown hair. He's in a gray sweatshirt and jeans. He has a bright smile that lights me up. But along with the smile are tears rolling down his cheeks. They roll into his deep dimples the down his rounded chin. They drip down to his sweatshirt and disappear. He covers his eyes and I see another boy with dark hair and bright blue eyes pat him on the back and whisper something in his ear. Everyone blocks my view with hugs but the only thing I'm focused on is why that boy is crying;his smile has disappeared. Is he not happy that Addy and I are here? Do I bring back bad memories? I push through the crowd and tap him on the shoulder. He looks back at me his brown eyes filled with tears.
"Um... Are-are you okay?" I ask sounding stupid,
"Oh sweetheart, I'm more than okay. I'm just so glad that you're here." That's followed with another set of tears and another tight hug. This time I hug him back.
"Oh! By the way I'm Cameron. You can call me whatever," he says
"Oh okay, I'm Zoe."
"Nice to meet you. I'm really happy you're here. Do you want me to show you your room?"
"Sure! Thanks!"
"Oh by the way that's Nash over there." He points to the blue eyed boy that was comforting him earlier. Nash is talking to a girl with brown hair.
"And that's Andrea.... And Ricky, Trevor, and Sam. We all came to see you."
"Wow I'm so happy I'm here, thank you Cameron, you've helped so much." I say. He just smiles and I think another wave of tears is coming.
"Follow me," he says and I do."This is your room. Well.... Your's and Addy's." Cam says
"Woah!!" I scream. My room is split into a pink side and a blue side, each identical but one is blue and one is pink so there's a desk, bed, nightstand, lamp, ect. Anything a normal bedroom would have but in two different colors. It's so amazing. I know Addy would want the pink side so I settle with the blue. This is so amazing I keep thinking. I start jumping up and down on my bed and do a backflip. I run into Cam's arms.
"Oh thank you thank you thank you!!!!" I exclaim. He laughs
"You're very welcome I'm glad you're so happy" he picks me up and spins me around. Just then Addy and Jc come in laughing. Addy is on Jc's back and he's acting like a horse and Addy is the cowgirl.
"Woah!" Addy exclaims as soon as she lays her eyes on the room. Jc lets her climb off and she runs to me and hugs me.
"Isn't this amazing, Zo?!!" I nod and she runs to her desk.
"Zo did you see the iMac? Mine is pink!" She says.
"Yeah. Mine is blue!! This is awesome!" I say back.
"Oh! Addy! That's Cameron!" I run over and hug him.
"Hey Addison." Cam says, he smiles.
"Hey Cam?" I say
"Yeah, what's up, love?"
"Uhh do you think Addy and I could have some alone time? Just for a minute?" I ask shyly,
"Of course!" He says and with that, kisses both of us on the cheek and winks at me as he closes the door.
"Soooo.... Do you like it here Addy?"
" Are you kidding?! It's awesome! And everyone is so nice! Especially Jc." She says
"I really like Connor and Cameron but I haven't met everyone yet. Nash seems really sweet but I really wanna meet the girl" I say
"She's so pretty!" Both of us say and we start laughing.
"I really think this is it. This is our home, Zoe." Addy says. And I think about that. It's finally here. Home has arrived. As if people were dying and in desperate need of medicine then the medicine arrived. It's like when a soldier arrives home to see his/her children. My home is here. It's home.
