What matters most (OUAT fanfic)

Chapter six: Crap he heard me

I see darkness pulling me down. I hear my name being called. I feel someone picking me up. I think I hear murmuring but I can't make out the words. I feel cold.

I open my eyes a little and I make out a figure wearing green but that's all I see.

"Pan?" I asked sleepily. I'm not going to able to keep my eyes open for much longer.

"Shh just close your eyes." I hear. I mumble my thanks and fall into a deep sleep.

You don't have to tell me twice

I open my eyes and I see darkness. It takes my eyes some time to adjust but once they do I see that I'm in a tent that has beds lined up along the side. It seems that I'm the only one here.

I decide to explore. I shift my feet to the edge of the bed and slowly put my feet on the ground and stand up. I feel no pain.

Huh? That's weird I thought I hurt my leg?

Walking around, I start to wonder where I am. Did my family set up a tent? Maybe they do care!

I start to move faster towards the flap in the tent, once I'm out I see a campsite that has logs all over the ground, but I don't see anyone.

Huh? Did we change locations? Where is everybody?

"Where do you think you're going?" I hear a voice ask. I turn around to the source to find Pan leaning up against a tree.

He sure likes his trees

"Trying to find my family. Did you do something to them?" I ask, narrowing my eyes,"because if you did-"

"Calm down, your family is safe for now, but your not going to be able to find them." he interrupted me.

"What do you mean? We're at their camp." I say waving my arms around.
Pan just chuckles.

"Correction love, we're at my camp. Hence all the tents and logs." he says waving his hand towards the fire pit.

And with that sentence, all the hope inside me leaves me. How stupid could I really be? Of course they wouldn't care to set up a tent or make sure I'm okay. Why did I ever think that they would?

"Why am I here?" I ask tiredly, not having the energy to put my "all is well" facade I normally do around people.

"Why the sudden change in attitude? Did someone actually think that her family would set up a whole new camp for her?" He says mockingly.

I avoided eye contact with him, and just sighed.

"Why am I here?" I repeat

"Well you got on a ship and-"

"Seriously! What am I doing here at your camp!?" I loudly interrupted him. He seems to understand that I don't want to be played around with so he finally me.

"You were shot by an arrow coated with dreamshade then fell and hit your head on a rock after I agreed to call off my boys. Since you were harmed without doing anything, I decided to bring you back here and cure you because I am the only one with the cure." he explained.

"So one of the most evil beings in the world actually has moral?" I ask.

He scoffs,"I already told you, I always keep my promises. Besides, where would the fun be if you died before anything got started. I can't have my main event not be there."

Main event?

"I would have thought Henry would be the main event." I say bitterly.

"Please, Henry is nothing compared to what I have planned." He says excitedly

"Which is?" I curiously ask.

"You just have to wait and see."

I just nod my head, knowing I'm not going to get anything else out until I thought of something that he said earlier.

"What's dreamshade?" I ask

"A deadly poison." he answers and my eyes go wide.

"Did any of my family get hit by an arrow?" I ask, fearing the worst.

"Can't tell you." he replies.

"Why not?"

"Because"

"Because why?"

"Because I said so and that's the end of it." he replies darkly. I dropped the subject.

"Can I go back to my family?" I ask, getting tired of talking to him.

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because you know where my camp is. Plus you are now a prisoner of war." He replies simply.

"Prisoner," I scoff,"It won't make much difference to them." I mutter to myself.

"Oh but it makes all of the difference. See, without you, they don't have the map which brings them back to square one." he says proudly.

Crap, he heard me

"I wouldn't have been able to unlock it anyways." I mutter

"I might be able to help with that," he reaches into his jacket and pulls out the map.
