Ice blue eyes surveyed the wrecked city before him. It didn't hurt a single bit he was the one who caused this. It didn't hurt he was the one who destroyed everything. The cold wind didn't even sting him. What stung was the thought of his lady.
His expressionless face broke into a sneer at the thought of the person he had long called father. A disgrace to every good father out there. Tears slowly crept out the corner of his eyes at the thought of the cost. It cost him his everything, his world, his Marinette...
He screamed in anguish, releasing a powerful cataclysm, but no form of destruction could never ever match the poor kitty's heart. It was broken, it was hurt, it was lonely as it endured the consequences of his 'father's' actions.
Closing his eyes, memories flurried. It was all perfect, everything was...just perfect! But his father could never handle his son happy, it was a big no no. He remembered his mother and thought what she ever saw in his father. He was just a...cold, distant person who was so selfish he didn't care about anyone else around him.
He knew very well his father wanted their 'family' back. It was all a comfort lie, his father wanted himself to be happy, Adrien was an excuse to justify his actions further. He wondered what his mother would've said if she came to know of all he had done. They never lost the family, Gabriel broke it off with Adrien. And he was just dumb enough to think his father was grieving when he was doing what he shouldn't.
He remembered after the reveal, she told him how his father had threatened her using his freedom as ransom. His heart had been lit on fire by anger, and if not for the sake of the identities and the fear he saw in her eyes when he snapped away his gaze, he may as well confronted his father with an activated cataclysm. He had softened his gaze back then and hugged her, thanking her for taking care of him and loving him.
But now there weren't even whispers. He couldn't even call out Plagg, who was stuck. He felt on the edge. He hadn't heard anyone or anything, not even a hum. The only sounds ever emitted in the void were his own cries of anger, screams and pain of being lonely.
He wanted his home back, he wanted his comfort back, he wanted Marinette back.
He knew very well a dead fortune awaited him underneath the water, but he was a coward. He could not face whatever was underneath. She probably became air as son as the cataclysm touched her. Hopefully it was fast. No, hopefully she didn't have to endure his pain of loneliness.
He looked out to the abyss, Was that a blur of colours? No, his imagination. What if she was alive? What if she say, miraculously survived? She probably was looking for a way to get everything back to normal wasn't she! Wasn't she?
The voice in his mind faltered, cracking into silence as Chat screamed once more. "Marinette!!"
He sat on the roof they had met so many times. He thought, where was Bunnix? Why can't the crazy bunny come help now? Did he hurt current Alix which affected future Alix? No...
He thought about the odds and present. Even if Ladybug saved and restored everything. His father would probably be arrested. He could perhaps live with Gorilla...Would that be allowed? His closest family would be the Graham De Vileys...They lived so far away, he'd have to break it off with Marinette anyway, and if they don't turn him in, Marinette is at risk.
He clutched the railing in anger. These cursed jewels! This cursed fate of holders and villains! They'd never let him and Marinette be one! There is always some barrier! He thought in anger remembering Master Fu. "When combined, the two miraculous grant one wish capable of altering reality."
If the miraculous can bring back his mother according to his father, as in the dead to life. Then he can...he can use the wish for them to be together! No identities or barriers! Just two teenagers with a life! Except....Ladybug's miraculous probably doesn't even exist...
She always wanted a hamster, and once blabbered on about three kids before slapping her moth shut. He chose to treasure those moments, even if half insane. "Love you, see you!"
He snapped his neck so fast to see Marinette go, eventually disappearing as he sighed. She's gone. He had plenty of visions of her or Ladybug swishing through the air. Only to see nothing. There used to be a pigeon, but he either died or migrated. Nothing will ever be ok again...
Just then he heard a faint call, "Chat Noir?"
Turning around he saw Ladybug...Marinette. He waited a second for her to disappear but she didn't. She was very real, Chat grinned. His wish has a chance to come true. All he needs is to pry the miraculous from his beloved partner.
