Rachel's POV:

"Look who I found!" I announce cheerfully as me and the rest of One Direction file into the studio. The boys are all laughing and carrying on, while I'm still trying to recover from my "performance" earlier. These guys can definitely lighten the mood.

"Well, well, well. Louis, Liam, Niall, Zayn - nice of you to finally join us" Harry says while playfully punching Louis in the arm. I can't help but giggle at the sight of these goofs. They act like literal children haha.

"Hey hey- stop that! Traffic was a menace! It's not our fault you and Steep over here had to wait an hour for us" Louis says defensively while poking me in the ribs. I squeal and run off towards the counter and begin prepping the kettle.

"Steep? Who the hell is Steep?" Harry replies, genuinely confused. But still, a smile plays across his face.

"Well the lass was almost run over by us when we came into the building. She was carrying a box of tea bags and..." the friendly blonde trails off while bending over, laughing too hard to finish his sentence.

"...and Louis over her knocks right into hear, sending tea bags flying all about the hallway-" the guy with a buzzcut is cut off by Louis' cackling "And sending my nose into direct contact with her elbow. And thus I gave her the nickname 'Steep' because tea has to steep... get it?!" Louis adds, just barely getting the sentence out. By this time all five of the boys are laughing histarically. I just shake my head and laugh to myself.

"Oh yeah. Hilarious." I shoot back sending them all into more and more laughter. I sigh and finish plugging the kettle into the nearby outlet and flipping the switch on. Heat rushes to my cheeks as I feel a hand on my shoulder.

"So I take it you've all been introduced?" Harry asks as the laughter dies down, peering over me at the miscellaneous tea bags all jumbled into a pile.

"More less." I shrug. I'm still kind of embarrassed about the whole exchange, silently thanking god I didn't break Liam's nose... or was it Louis'? I turn around when I feel them all coming closer.

"Alright then I'll go first. My name is Zayn." The one with black hair approaches me and extends his hand for a shake. I return the gesture and turn to the cute blonde guy who's smile alone could easily make someone's day. "And I'm Niall. Nice to meet you...?" "Rachel." I reply and shoot back a friendly smile. "I'm Liam, and this is-" "The name is Louis. But you wouldn't know that because you're too busy clocking innocent folks like me over the head!" the boy with ocean blue eyes exclaims in a thick British accent. Geez, he's got to be the most British dude I've ever met. "I said I was sorry, okay?!! At least your nose ain't broken. I dunno what I would've done" I bring my hand to my face in embarrassment. Louis winks and says "Ah, it's alright luv. I've had worse work related injuries being with these four" as he tousles Niall's hair. "Anyways, it's nice to meet y'all" I reply, attempting to make eye contact with each member in front of me. I receive a series of nods and Liam turns his attention to Harry who is still standing beside me.

"And I assume you two have been properly... acquainted?" he asks as his eyes travel to Harry's hand resting on my shoulder. I try not to blush but fail miserably as I too turn my attention to Harry. I hadn't even noticed he was still holding me. He just smirks and nods slyly. "Yeah, Rachel and I have been properly acquainted." He smirks again and I roll my eyes, placing his hand back to his side and walking towards my phone in the corner. 1:17pm. Definitely behind schedule. The rest of 1D's team walks in carrying papers and equipment while one guy - who I'm pretty sure is the manager - starts giving instructions and putting things into motion. The boys all smile at me and begin adjusting their in-ears of choice.

I busy myself with untangling cords and helping out in any way I can, assisting each person in the studio as needed. I can tell this is going to be a long couple of hours. Only after sound checks are completed and set lists are being decided do I finally have the chance to sit and think over the events of today and assess my first impressions of the people around me.

The boys all seem very friendly and genuinely happy to be together like this. Harry is playful and easy-going, but I can tell there's something deeper going on in him. Everything in me wants to know him better; find out what makes Harry, Harry. His emerald green eyes and childlike smile are enough to make most people weak at the knees... and understandably so. But there's much more to Harry than his good looks and winning personality. Ugh, I can't help but already love this guy.

Niall seems very sweet, respectful, and considerate. He's probably the most "innocent" out of the bunch. From what I can tell Niall is like the "youngest brother" of the group and cares deeply for those around him. He's always down for a good time... (probably.) In conclusion I'm sure we could be really great friends :)

Louis on the other hand is well... I'm not sure. Right off the bat i can tell
he's most likely the leader of the band. He's sassy and has this energy about him; it just draws me closer. He has the bluest eyes I've ever seen; they hold a mixture of passion, grief and genuine curiosity. And what he lacks in height, he makes up for in his love for his band mates. He's also so Britisth it's not even funny.

Liam seems like the "dad" of the group. I feel like he's the one who takes care of practical tasks and makes sure each member has whatever they need. I see sincerity in his eyes and can tell he has a good heart. He's also charming and charismatic and seems to have a great sense of humor.

Lastly there's Zayn; the mysterious one. We haven't spoken much and I'd like to know more about him. What I do know tho, is he's ridiculously handsome. I mean don't get me wrong, they all are ridiculously handsome. But Zayn is just... Wow. For all of his tattoos and dark features tho, he seems very gentle and sincere - like he has everyone's best interest at heart. He's like a big puppy dog, and I can't help but find it adorable.

All of this makes me wonder tho... what do these guys think of me? It's not important, but I'm curious. Hopefully they don't see me as a complete clutz considering our little run-in earlier. Granted, I'd understand if that were the case. Either way, I'm happy I met and get to work with them today. This is like another breath of fresh air, and I thoroughly enjoy their company.

But I'm not gonna be one of those fangirls who squeal and worship the ground these boys walk on. The way I see it, all of that stuff is kind of unnecessary. Yes they're talented and attractive beyond belief but they're still just people. I'm not gonna treat them as if they're my savior, pledge my undying devotion or snap secret photos while they're eating lunch. For instance; I caught Harry's worried glance when I checked my phone earlier. I'll have to gain their trust just like they'll need to gain mine.

I don't judge people who hound for pictures and beg for autographs, but personally it's just not my style. I prefer to keep everyone at an arm's distance anyway. I'm usually pretty good at reading people, but just because these guys are famous and friendly doesn't mean I want to trust them blindly or feed into the "crush culture" everyone is so caught up with. Nevertheless, I hope we can all become friends. Good friends, even.

Even if for just today.
