(Cynthia in the Picrew)

With my bags in hand, I made my way to the airport lounge to meet my grandmother, Quinn Kameron, and father, Michel Kameron. I glanced around for them and found them at one of the tables. They seemed a little jittery. They would be, of course. My mother had kept me hidden from my stepfather as I was the product of her affair with another man. She knew that she had to get rid of me somehow so I was sent to be taken care of by one of her friends in Japan. They were a wonderful family who cared for me as if I were their own child. They didn't like the fact that my mother had cheated but they never put the blame on me. However, now that the Kameron's are aware of my presence due to the passing of my mother, I've been taken away from them.

"Um, you're the Kameron's right?" I spoke softly, trying not to startle them.

"Oh!" Michel shot up. "Cynthia was it? Wow, you look a lot like your mother."

"Cynthia..." Quinn gasped.

Michel looked perplexed while Quinn looked at me as if I was merely a nuisance. I wouldn't blame them. Still, I wondered why they decided to take me in. I resented them a little because of this. I could've lived alongside my foster family in peace but now I've been taken from them. We exchanged details with each other and soon we were off to the rural town of Lunar Vale. I was asked several questions by the duo whilst in the car like who my father was. I know my mom is Japanese but not my dad. He might have been British but that was about it.

Soon, we arrived at the town. It was a small town only having a single mall, a shopping district, housing areas, and a small park. The most notable part of the town was the mansion at the top of the hill and that the town was surrounded by acres of forest.

We arrived at a cabin surrounded by the woods. I got my things out of the car and entered the house. It had a homely vibe to it and was decorated with plants around it.

"Your room is upstairs," Quinn said, pointing to the room above the stairs. "It's painted red, your foster family said it was your favourite."

"Thank you...Miss" I replied, bowing a little.

"Still not comfortable enough to call me grandma?" She questioned.

"Ah," I stammered, I couldn't bring myself to call these people family to be for real. "S-Sorry..."

"Well, it can't be helped," Michel said, placing a hand on my shoulder. I flinched a the touch, making him remove his hand. "A new environment would be a good change for you. It just takes time."

I nodded and head up the stairs with my luggage. I keep seeing the same plants surrounding the room. What's the deal with that?

"Hey, sorry to ask, " I asked from the top of the stairs. "What plant are these? There's so many."

"Wolfsbane," Quinn replied. "Nasty wolves surround the forests here and there, you can never be too safe."

"I see," I answered and then walked towards my room.

I walked inside of the dull red room. It did look nice. I had a bed with grey sheets in the corner and a window with red curtains right above it. A desk was situated opposite of the bed that had some of my boxes on it. There was a door that was connected to a private bathroom that was already stocked. It took me a few hours but I finally arranged all of my things, including the bookshelf of games I stored on it. What can I say? I love me a good gaming sesh. Laying on my bed in my black pyjamas, I think about the conversation that happened during dinner. We talked about normal things like how I was to start my first year of high school tomorrow, Monday. But there was one thing they said that confused me, something about my history and the wolves. I didn't pay it too much mind. I am really fucking tired. Taking a glance at the framed photograph of my foster family, I slowly drifted off to sleep.
