"I'm off!" I say, before closing the door behind me. Man, I had a really strange night. I only went out for a bit to let off some steam and I found myself entangled in a whole new problem. God, can't I just have a normal life. I walked to school, which wasn't too far away, whilst trying to organize my thoughts.

I was feeling stressed last night and wandered into the woods behind the house to calm down for a bit. Luckily, I had been given a gun to defend myself against feral beasts if so needed by Michel. Quinn told me to shoot on sight but I thought that'd be too cruel. I kinda wished I did though. Upon finding a pond, I was approached by a wolf that was actually a werewolf? His mom and brother came for him after I fired at him and she tells me that I'm his fated mate? First of all, Quinn and Michel are hiding something, they were way too calm when I told them about the werewolf encounter last night. It was as if they had been expecting it, telling me that I had a bad dream. Second, why in the world do werewolves exist? What did humanity do that allowed the lord to create a wholly separate race when we already have so many problems on our hands. I was tempted to report this to the police but I expected that they will treat me like a delusional child, either that or they're werewolves too. A lose-lose situation. Third, why the hell am I involved!? Mate?! Are you kidding me?! I was going to just up and leave, pretending that I had a bad dream but I suspect that won't be possible due to that woman's persistence. I really don't want to be bothered so I suppose my only option now is to wait and see and pray that my foster family magically gains the legal rights over me and whisk me away back home.

I quickly reached the school building in a matter of a few minutes and headed to where Quinn told me the main office would be. I noticed people staring at me as I walked onto the premises. Even though it's my second day in this town, I heard many people gossiping about me for some reason. Are they perhaps? No, that's absurd. If the entire town were populated by werewolves then Quinn and Michel couldn't have possibly decided to live here. I'm probably just the talk of the town cause I'm new. It would be annoying but that was unavoidable. Luckily I hadn't joined in the middle of the semester, so this will blow over soon enough. Reaching the location specified by Quinn, I managed to make it to the main office and was greeted by a brunette lady wearing a white blouse paired with a black pencil skirt.

"Is something the matter?" She asked, flicking her hair over her shoulders.

"I'm Cynthia Abe," I answered, smiling weakly. "I'm new here, miss."

"I see...Hold on a moment."

She turned towards her computer and typed in what I assumed to be my name. After a few clicks of the mouse, the noise of a printer went off, and the lady went to grab the sheet of papers before returning to her desk. Stapling the papers together, she handed them to me.

"This is your schedule," She said. "All of your classes shouldn't be too hard to find as the school only has a single floor but here's a map just in case. Your locker loaction is highlighted here and the code is below it."

I bowed, giving her my thanks, and left the office to find my classes. 7 classes with a single break period at 10 and lunch at 12. A pretty standard schedule. Though I must admit, I was pretty perplexed. I was briefed on the ordinary routines of an average western high school by Michel as he knew that I would be a fish out of water. To start with, the school year started in the beginning of April for us, not September. They also don't have entrance ceremonies that would have you meeting your homeroom teacher as well as the class of students you'll be spending the rest of the year in. Speaking of homeroom, a class is usually designated to a homeroom so that students aren't required to move from class to class, only the teachers. I swear if it weren't for the few western movies I had watched before, I would've been flabbergastered at this inefficient use of time. (Still am though) Though uniforms not being required is kind of cool. I quite like wearing my red sweater vest and white button up.

I kept my eyes glued onto my schedule and only occasionally looked up to look at the class numbers. I swear I can still feel the gaze of particular students drilling holes into my back. Just ignore it Cyn, nosy teens will be nosy teens. It was then when I felt a tap on my shoulders. I shrugged it off and was going to speed walk my way out of here but that tap became a harsh grip in a matter of seconds. The hand turned me around and I was greeted with a low growl from someone who look nearly identical to the boy I met last midnight. Oh bother.

"Alessandro's mate aren't you."He growled. What the fuck?  "Give him a chance won't you? You surely won't regret it."

"Um," I smiled akwardly. If I play dumb, surely he'll leave me alone. "I moved in just recently so I'm not sure what you are talking about. I would love to stay and talk about the customs of this town but I am going to be late. Sorry!"

I gave him a small bow and shrugged his arm off my shoulder, earning a glare from him. It was then I realised I was being glared at by a lot of people. Oh god, it's my worst nightmare. I had suspected this but never would I have hoped for the entire town to be made of werewolves. I noticed that people were gossiping about how I was 'making a stupid decision' or 'being stubborn'. Reaching english class, I set myself down on one of the seats near the back. It didn't grant me any escape and I was soon greeted by a few desk slams and statements on how I was just being difficult. I wanted to talk back but decided agaisnt it as it'll most likely just cause more problems. It wasn't till this particularily difficult girl came across and sat in the seat beside mine.

"So you're the human who caused Alessandro to become distressed." She said.

Well, when you put it that way...I ignored her, going back to writing in my notebook. Just be cool. Just be cool.

"You know, most of the denizens of this town are a part of the Lunar Vale pack. Many of us are feeling sorrow from the rejection he's feeling. So would you be a dear and just give him the happiness he deserves."

"Oh, neat and why do you feel sorrow when he does?"

Might as well gain a bit of information about this bizzare town.

"He's the son of the Alpha silly. It's his birthright. He only deserves the highest of respect from his pack becuase it is what he desreves."

Birthright huh? This is growing ridiculous.

"Say, if he isn't the son of this 'Alpha', you and this 'pack' of his wouldn't be going through all this trouble trying to persuade me to have sex with a man I just met."

"Don't direspect-"

"Respect is something earned. Not passed down to you. Only spoiled brats think that. I've only been met with harassment ever since I got here, so maybe we're not off to a good start."

"It won't be long before you give into him. You needn't resist nor be afraid. You'lll see what you're missing."

"When pigs fly."

Luckily enough, the teacher walked in and hushed the entire class, allowing me to focus better. Though it wasn't long till she decided to pull me aside and inform me of the whole mate issue. I told them about the path I wished to take in life but they wouldn't listen. As if I could've expected any help from teachers.
