He frowned. "What's wrong?". "Nothing, mind your own business". "Damon, tell me, what's up?". "Fine, I'm worried about Katerina".
"About what happened?". Damon nodded. "I mean, what would have happened if Klaus, Kol and Elijah got out of the house with them?". "But they didn't, we were there". "I promised to protect her, I've not really been keeping much promises". "I know that your worried about her".
"But you can't blame yourself for what happened". "Well I am, are you happy?". "No, I'm not". "Look Stefan, I promised you an eternity of misery, you'll have to do what I say". "That was over a century ago Damon, we're not living in past anymore".
"Is this really about Katherine, because you spent your whole life being obsessed with her, but Katerina is not Katherine, Damon, she's not going to leave you, you need to remember that". Stefan shouted.
"She was the one who screamed out my name, mine Stefan". Damon shouted. Stefan looked at Damon. He paused.
"She thought that I would come and save her, but I didn't". Damon shook his head. "I didn't". He whispered, as his voice broke, he threw his bourbon in the fire. It rose up in a heat a little bit.
