Bare with me
It will get better

//Cas POV

"Wake up Castiel." My mom brushed my cheek lightly and I groaned, not wanting to get up.

"It's your first day of your senior year baby!"

"Ugh."

I opened one eye and peeked up at my mother who was smiling broadly down at me like life was amazing and perfect.
Her golden curls hung just above her light shoulders and her hazel eyes shine brightly. She looked nothing like me. Neither did my father. While my dad had whitish blond baby hair and brown eyes, I had crazy dark hair that couldn't be kept straight and big blue eyes. I knew I was adopted but I still hated not looking anything like my parents.

I threw on a white sweater, black skinny jeans and my black combat boots with my plain black frames perched on my nose. Heading out the front door, butterflies filled my stomach making me feel queasy and even more nervous then I had last night.

It was my senior year. I went to a small, private school not far from my house. My friends all lived in my neighborhood but didn't go to my school. I wasn't some geek who got bullied all the time I was just shy and not particularly outgoing. I was well liked I guess but I felt anything but normal.

If only I knew the truth.

Once i got to school I went straight to the place I had been going to be alone at this school. It was past the senior lockers in this tiny hallway with an exit door at the end. Since you couldn't get out of there without sounding the alarm, the hallway was nothing. But to me it was the only place I could read in peace.

I pulled out my book, pointed my knees to the ceiling and settled it on my thighs. Once I started reading I was lost in my own little world in the life of Beatrice in the Divergent Series. All of a sudden someone was poking my knee and I gasped, looking up in surprise.
I looked towards the person and my heart hitched as emerald green eyes stared back at me in amusement.

"Hello." The guy said, bringing his legs up to his chest. He rested his hands on his knees and laid his cheek on top of them.

God, he was gorgeous. He had hair like mine, unkept and a bit wild, but it looked great on him.

And he was staring at me!

//Dean POV

"Do I have to talk to the guy?" I asked Michael as he showed me around my new apartment where I would be staying, as if I'd be sleeping and eating.

"You don't have to but it would be nice if he feels comfortable around you." Michael said, dragging his finger along the apartment wall and checking it for dust.

Michael was always like that. He wanted everything to be perfect and when things weren't perfect he would do anything to make it perfect again. Even in this apartment that I would barely even be, he was checking to make sure the Angels had cleaned it well enough.

God he annoyed the living hell outta me.

But since heaven apparently needed me badly, I could practically do anything. I was pretty gay too. Gay as the day is long. Michael hated it so much and I was happy to annoy him with my gayness.

Ah.

I flew to the school I would be attending and appeared behind some bleachers so no one would see. Stretching my invisible wings out, I started to memorize my schedule and the students names. Finally, I pulled out the picture of Castiel Novak that Michael had given me.

God, this kid was actually really cute. His messy black hair was sticking up everywhere but it looked fantastic on him. Castiel had big blue eyes, as blue as the ocean, and a great smile. He would be easy to find in a small school like this.

I walked towards the front doors where a bunch of teens were striding in with their cliques, excited and nervous as hell for their first day. Me on the other hand, I was just here to protect the little savior of the heavens. Girls stared as I walked by but I was too busy searching through the many groups of kids to notice.
I rounded the corner and saw a big group of teens hanging and talking by a wall. I was about to turn around when I noticed another hallway to the right. Slowly creeping over I peeked around the corner and smiled.

Castiel Novak.

I walked over to him and stood over him, waiting for him to look up. But he continued looking down at the book in his lap. His black hair flopped into his eyes so I couldn't even see his face. Wow, that book must be pretty good.

I slid my back down the wall and tapped his knee. He gasped and jumped slightly, looking over at me. WHOA. His eyes were... Blue. A beautiful, deep ocean blue that I could get lost in all day. Man, in person he was even cuter. My eyes ran over his face and flicked back up to his eyes.

"Hello." I said. I scooted my legs up to my chest and laid my head on my knees.

"Oh, uh, hi?" Castiel said like it was a question.

I waited expectantly but Castiel just stared at me like he was waiting for me to leave.

"Do we know each other?" He asked.

"I want to."

"Really." He said, narrowing his eyes.

"Really."

"Uh, why?"

I shrugged and pulled my legs down in a criss-cross applesauce form.

"No, I wanna know."

Glancing up, I tried to search his face and then using my powers I tried to look into his mind. My mind was enveloped in darkness like it usually did but all of a sudden I was sucked back.

Castiel gasped and backed away. "What... What did you just do?" He asked in horror.

I stood up and pressed my fingers to my temple and shook my head in confusion. "I-"

All of a sudden, I was thrown against the wall by an invisible force and I couldn't move. My eyes flicked over to Castiel who was holding up his hand. Was he... Was he the one holding me back?

"What are you? Are you another one of those black eyed things?" Castiel
hissed, his blue eyes wide in fear.

"A demon? No!" I said through clenched teeth. Damn this hurt.

"Then what are you?" He asked, glaring at me with his beautiful big blue eyes.

"Just, just let me down." I trembled in pain. How was he doing this!? "And I'll tell you, I swear."

Castiel pondered over it and finally closed his hand into a fist, causing me to drop from the wall. I bent over trying to catch my breath, even though angels didn't really have to breath but damn, for a second I felt...
Human again.

Finally, i stood up and looked at Castiel who had a blank expression on his face like a brick. I opened my mouth but a bell rang throughout the halls and I heard the voices of teens drift off towards class. "I'm sorry, I can't explain here Castiel." I said walking closer to him.

"How-how do you know my name?"

"Do you really wanna know?" I asked, raising my eyebrows.

"Um, yeah I really do."

I chuckled and brought my hand up to his forehead. "Wait what-"

I cut him short by pressing my fingertips to his forehead and we disappeared in a flurry of feathers.
