You stood outside of the school's entrance, standing with Mikey as you leaned against the stairway and shoved your phone in your pocket.

"I still can't believe your doing this." Mikey muttered, bitterly looking at the ground.

"Why. What's so hard to understand about this? I'm dropping out, simple as that." You replied, staring at him.

"But there's no reason for you too." Mikey groaned lightly, rubbing his head before turning and looking at you.

"It's not like I'm leaving forever. You'll still see me" you muttered, gazing at him still confused.

He shook his head.

"This is- this is a good place for you. Your getting what you need to survive-"

"What, a diploma? I don't need it, dude." You hissed, slightly pissed off.

"I just- Y/n. You do good. This can help you get in higher spots." Mikey frowned slightly, turning his gaze away from you.

"Mikey I barely get passing grades. This isn't fun for me, I'm hardly getting anywhere."

"No one said college was supposed to be fun" Mikey hissed back, side eyeing you

"Mikey please. Just understand. This isn't the place for me." You frowned, gazing at him sadly.

He looked at you, exploring you eyes for a second, before sighing and turning his head back to the ground.

"I just. I'll miss you, y'know? I guess that's my real problem with this. I won't get to see you as often." He muttered, returning his gaze to you.

"Sure you will. I can still come over to your dorm, and we can get dinner or something together every once 'n a while. Plus, our professes do have a tendency to just cancel classes, so just call me up when ever they do and we can hang." You grinned, tilting your head at him.

Mikey smiled back, straightening his position and shoving his hands in his pockets.

"Yeah, I guess so. When do you leave again?" He asked quickly

"Not till next Friday. We got another week. Just chill out, I'll see you Monday, ok?" You smiled, turning and walking away.

He didn't see you Monday. He didn't see you since then. You were filled with regret when you had realized your train to leave was the next day, and you had stood outside his dorm door considering telling him goodbye, but you hadn't. Instead you had guilty rode the train back, neither of you hearing from each other again.

You sat outside on the porch, drinking and talking aimlessly with Mikey.

"God I still can't believe we did that. The people who owned the dorms probably hated us." Mikey chuckled, shaking his head and sipping his beer.

You nodded in agreement.

"Yeah. Im surprised we were never kicked out, honestly, we caused a lot of shit, you know" you grinned, sighing lightly.

"Well it's not like we were the loudest people in the dorms. There were those three guys that were loud as fuck downstairs from us- sounds like they held a party every other night."

"Yeah. And whenever they weren't partying they were doing stuff with music really loud." You snorted lightly.

The two of you sighed and looked out into the yard, taking in the time and silence. You leaned forward in your chair slightly, fiddling with the bottle in your hand.
