Not so long after that I'm woken by the subtle movement of the bed, covers being pulled back, I don't really remember if I hopped under the covers or not. Confused and tired I push myself up to see Newt looking like a kid caught with his hand in the cookie jar, half in bed half out.
"Sorry did I wake you?"
"Sorta," I reply, still half asleep.
"Are you feeling better?"
"A bit."
"That's good, go back to sleep," he says fully in the bed now.
I nod and snuggle back down but there's a loud bang and a mechanical sounding shriek that causes me to jolt upright.
"What the bloody hell was that?" I gasp looking at Newt, I don't know why but the noise has gotten me terrified .
"Hey calm down, we're okay, they can't get us in here," he hushes placing his hand on my arm.
"They?!"
"Grievers, monsters that roam around at night," he sees my horrified expression "it's okay the walls protect and seperate us."
"Wait what's a Griever?" I ask still scared.
"Don't worry about it, I'll explain it tomorrow," he promises, he gently pulls me back down.
"Just go to sleep," he almost coos, his eyes close but his hand remains on my shoulder. My ears strain for sound over Newt's gentle snores but fatigued wins over and I fall asleep.
Newts P.O.V
I wake earlier than usual, it's still dark outside, good everyone will still be asleep therefore I can start the tour without Holli getting to much klunk. Looking down I see Holli fast asleep, eyes closed and hair sprayed out, she looks young and peaceful.
A cold breeze drifts through the window and Holli shudders and wriggles closer to me. Again I'm angered over how young and innocent she seems, why put her in a maze filled with teenage boys. Far off a metallic sound fills the air reminding me of what I need to do.
"Hey, Holli" I say shaking her, she stirs but ignores me. Rolling my eyes I shake her again "Oi Greenie get up."
"Mmmmm," she murmurs. "Not a morning person."
"I can tell," I laugh, nudging her again "com'on big big day!"
