She knew she was in big trouble when Montogmery sat her in front of King Akhmenrah's tea table. She also knew she had better escape if she wanted to live.
King Akhmenrah walked in a moment later, dressed in gold and a fine orangey cape, his head crowned by a, well, crown.
He sat down opposite of her and said in a nonchalant and accented Egyptian voice, 'So.'The girl squirmed in her seat.
'This is the girl who got Reckion Black.' He looked to Montogmery and motioned for him to go away.
Montogmery. The person he trusted most, yet had suspicions about. Akh could never tell if he was going to betray him or save him if they came face-to-face with a lion. He was so carried and cool and seemingly random, but Akh suspected he was planning something in the dark. He could never be sure with Mont. And yet, he had a nature to him that made people want to trust him. Frustrating.
Montogmery stalked away without a word, his face grim. The girl - Akh realized he didn't know her name yet - was getting uncomfortable, though Akh knew she must feel terribly awkward underneath her ability to hide emotions.
'Oh, don't worry,' he said, giving her smile. 'Everyone is nervous when they meet me. Probably more in your case.'
The girl shifted.
Don't ask my name. Don't ask anything. Stop talking. You're making it even worse.
'What's your name?' Akh asked.
No. Don't say it. It's secret. Can't reveal identity. No. Mention a fake name. Can't let them know. Can't let anyone know.
She squirmed. 'Anodyne Violet.'
'Anodyne Violet,' Akh repeated. 'Beautiful. And what should I call you?'
No. I revealed my identity, my name. Wrong. I did it all wrong. Who does he think he is, the bloody king of England?
' . . . Violet.'
'Ah.'
She wanted to go back, to the cell if even possible. But the king was the only one who could help her - or would.
I can't help it. I want to go home, or wherever I belonged when I was born. I don't belong here. Get me out of here.Akhmenrah. Help me.

No. No. Pain striked in her body, she could feel herself being torn apart, being blasted into a million tiny pieces. She could see the face of Montogmery, he was talking to someone dressed in black, not human, if at all, they looked like they were plotting something.
Something.She didn't know . . .
