they couldn't save stefani, as she had already died by the time they had gotten there. when police were investigating the scene, it became clear that this was a murder. but the question now was, who did it? a day later, they started interrogating everyone that was at the party, with me being the first.

"so, tell me what you were doing when this happened" the interrogator asked. "we were all playing hide and seek. billie was at the party, and she suggested that we all disperse to make the game go faster". "were you near the scene of the murder?" he questioned. "no, everyone was in pairs and were searching in different parts of the house. i was helping mariah all the way up in the third floor". "did you hear any voices up there?" "no, all i heard was screaming, and then what seemed like someone running". "just in case it's useful, when we got there dua was already at the scene, making an emergency call. she looked like she was about to start crying".

oh god, i'm getting interrogated. i didn't kill her, i would never kill anyone, so what if they think i'm the murderer!? "take a seat" the interrogator calmly said. "you look quite nervous" he noted. "oh, umm... yeah sorry, i just don't want to get falsely accused" i told him. he started questioning me. "where were you when it happened?" "i was actually nearby it. i had been hiding behind a piece of furniture in a room almost next to the murder". "what did you hear? you don't have to say what you heard if it's too much". i paused, with the memory of that moment coming back to me. i started crying, and he comforted me. "all i heard was screaming" i said while sobbing. "and then stabbing". i wiped away my tears to continue. "after everything went quiet i went to see what had happened-" i started crying again. the trauma was just too much. when i was once again ready, i said i had immediately called 999, and i think the interrogator thought i wasn't the killer.

i quietly walked in to the interrogation room. i was probably a big suspect, as i had joined the party uninvited and my original plan was to straight up sneak into it. "so, i have heard that you tried sneaking into the party. is that correct?" he asked. "yeah, i really wanted to go but i wasn't invited". "do you remember anything about this incident? did you hear anything?" "yeah, it was really scary. we were playing hide and seek, and i was just having fun looking around, trying to find people. then all of a sudden i hear this bloodcurdling scream. i didn't go and see what it was because i was terrified that i would, like, see a dead body or the killer would be there waiting for their next victim. i started hearing running though, and it sounded really close to me. i decided to be brave, and run to where i think they were going. at one point i think i did see the back of a white dress. i never managed to catch up to them though".

while everyone was being interrogated, me and dua decided to go to the botanical gardens near her house, so we could catch up. "hey dua!" i said. i sounded a bit somber, and she had a similar tone. "so, how have you been?" i asked. "i've been doing ok. i've been getting help for my trauma. it's been really hard, but i'm just gonna keep going". "i feel like it's my fault" i said. "really!? i mean, we don't know who the murderer is yet, but i know that it's most likely not you" she responded confused. "yeah, i wasn't the one who killed her, but i was the one who organised the party in the first place! i was the who let whoever the murderer is in!". "you wouldn't have known that any of those people were a murderer. none of this is your fault. none of us, except for the killer, would have known it was gonna turn out like this" she assured. "thank u for comforting me, you're a really good friend" i said.

we both hugged and continued chatting about whatever was on our mind, like stefani. "man, i never even knew that the last time i would see her was when she ran off to go find a place to hide" i said. "yeah, i'm sad i didn't talk to her much" dua mentioned. "well, again none of us would have known she would die" i replied. "i still remember everyones reaction to the meat dress".  "i can't even imagine her not being an artist, she was the greatest of the decade imo." "100% agree. she had such a creative image, i feel like chromatica was almost a send off for her". we both continued reminiscing about stefani, until we started just taking in the scenery around us. my mind was just wandering off, and i started thinking about when i first got that mansion. but then i realised something. something that could immensely help this case.

i gasped. "what is it?" dua asked. "that house has cctv!" i said. "oh my god, we need to go tell the investigators!" dua exclaimed.
