What's lurking in the Shadows....

Chapter One:The beginning

I opened the door to see that Cliff arrived."Hey sweetheart."He said while smirking."Hey babe."I said hugging him. he came in and sat on the couch with me beside him."So how's my Princess doing today?" I looked at him with big eyes and whispered,"He won't stop."Tears burned my eyes.He wrapped his arms around me very protectively."Don't cry.I promise I'll get him to stop."He said kissing my forehead."Just don't hurt him."I pleaded."I can't make any promises." He said bluntly. I looked into his blue eyes.They sparkled like stars in the late night sky.He grabbed my hands and pulled me in close.So close that I tingled.I wondered what he was about to do until he kissed me.It wasn't the first time we kissed but it felt like the first time we did. I pulled away after a little bit and looked at him. He grabbed me onto his lap and cuddled me. The quiff of his brown hair tickled me lightly."You know what we should do that might make you feel better?" Cliff with a lot of hope."What?" I said. "We get some friends and do something fun to take your mind off this." I hesitated but then I shook my yes.He smiled brightly and said,"Ok. You make some calls and I will too." I pulled my phone out of my pocket and unlocked it. I called 6 people. Lynn,Valentine,Brittni, Savannah,Peter,and Kinley. After I called them up Cliff told me he invited 5 people. Tanner,My older brother Tony,Parker,Nate,and Matt. It wasn't 30 minutes till everybody showed up. Soon they all sat down in the living room and that's when things got interesting. Everybody had a seat but me. I began to sit on the floor when Cliff told me to come here. I walked over to him and he pulled me onto his lap. I could tell my brother didn't like it. By the way he looked at him I was scared that he was going to hurt him but he held back. Did I feel a little uncomfortable? No. I mean he's my boyfriend."So what do you guys want to do?"I asked trying to make things not awkward anymore."How about a movie?"Brittni suggested."We did that last time."Lynn groaned."The mall?" Savannah said."What are we? Twelve?" Tanner(Cliff's best friend) said very rudely."What's got your panties in a twist?"Peter shot at him."Guys cut it out."Tony said stepping in."So anyways how about we do something exciting?" Kinley deviously said. I could tell by the smile on her face that something was about to happen."Why don't visit the old Porterfield house around the curb?" Kinley finished. Everyone loves that idea but me. That seemed kind of... what's the word I'm looking for...oh I know! CRAZY! That house was so scary and possibly haunted.What happened was one night while the kids were sleeping the father had another woman over and they were"asleep"together when they interrupted by the wife. She had an axe and she chopped the legs of the man and then chopped the woman to little pieces.While the man was watching his wife peel the face off the other woman and stick it on her face and she whispered,"Do you love me now?" Then she kiss him and chopped his head off then took his head and nailed it to wall. Then she took the remaining pieces of the husband put them into a bag and cooked them and ate them. You may ask what did she do with the rest of the other woman? She took the legs,arms, and what was left of her head and hung them up in the living room. Then she took up the cut up torso and shoved the pieces in to the head of the husband. Then she grabbed the kids and knocked on the neighbors house. When the husband opened the door his eyes were wide."Why are you covered in blood?"He screeched.Then she took the axe and hit the mans face with it."Somethings are better left unknown...My husband should've known that." She left the kids in the house and went back to her old house and hung herself. Once the police got there they saw everything. The horror was unreal. Once they saw wife the went upstairs they saw the wife (they think it was her spirit)sitting in the window seal. She was mumbling something in Swedish but they couldn't tell what she was saying. Rumors say it was a spell to curse the house. Soon the wife(or her spirt) went to the dresser mirror and mumbled something in Sweden and was casted into the mirror. Now you see why I don't want to go. But it was our idea to have them over so I went along. On our way there I was very nervous. I knew something bad was going to happen but I don't know what. When we arrived there a cold shivered went down my spine. I guess Cliff thought I was cold because he took off his jacket and gave it to me. Then he put his arm around me. I'll admit I felt warm but I still had a bad feeling. "Ok.Let's split up. Cliff,Emily,Tanner, Peter,Parker,Tony, Nate and Matt. And the rest of you come with me."Kinley said as fast as she could and they all rushed off."Well that was weird."I said. When we entered the house all we saw were a couple ropes hanging from the ceiling fan but that was it. As we kept walking we went made it to the children's room and it was so dusty. Once you looked around you saw that walls were pink and covered with little elephants. I even found a picture of the two little girls."Aww. Look."I showed Cliff and his friends.Cliff smiled and hugged me tight.Parker said,"So how what you guys? Going to have some too?" Everybody laughed including Tony. Which surprised me but there was someone that looked a little upset. Cliff smiled and looked at me and said,"You know Emily I can see us having a boy and a little girl. Maybe even have dog and a kitten?" I kissed his nose and said,"As long as it's with you." I heard a bunch of aww's and someone even did the wedding song. "You know Tanner I could see us having two boys and cute unicorn!" Tony squealed mocking Cliff."Oh Tony I love you!"Tanner said in a fake girl voice.Everybody was laughing then Peter spat out,"Can we just go explore the rest of the house?" Everything got a little awkward until Matt said,"Some one is on their monthly." Peter just ignored him and pushed by all of us. Once he left we quietly giggled. Did I feel bad? Sure. Was I going to let it bother me? Nope. I know that sounds bad but trust me. We've been friends since we were 3 so I know he wouldn't care. Once we stopped laughing we met back up with him and we found ourself in the kitchen. I saw so many spider webs,cockroaches,and even some knifes stabbed in the walls. We looked around and then left. Soon we made it to the bathroom. Now you think we might be crowed but these people lived in a huge mansion so we had plenty room. The bathroom was so scary. I mean the cracked mirrors,the bathtub covered in mold,and the paranormal vibe it gave. We looked wiped off the mirrors and Tanner being the idiot he is he started to make funny faces. "Tanner your so fun-"I was cut off by the face in the mirror that wasn't his. Her eyes looked like they were ripped out, a stitched up smiled,and had no nose.I started crying so hard I was gasping for air. Soon Cliff was pulling me close. Tanner punched the mirror. It wasn't soon we ran out the house. I was throwing up so hard. When I had nothing else to up chuck I curled up. "Come here Emily."Tony picked me up. Cliff came over to check up on me. Soon I heard whispering. Something about why did I take it so hard. Tony explained my story. You see it happened when I was 10. I had a little sister and she was always up to no good. Well one day she skipped school. It wasn't soon until I we got a call from the police saying our little sister was raped and murdered. When we got there we saw the body. The nose was peeled off,her eyes were either scratched or pulled out and the man sowed up her mouth up so she couldn't scream. I had never been so upset and angry in my life. I was so mad I punched the wall. I tried everyday to put that behind me and I never could. I even have some jerk at school make fun of me about it. But that little girl in the mirror was my sister. I never thought I would have to see what that man did to my sister again. I was wrong."Tony I want to go home." I whispered to him. "We have to get the others then we can. Ok sweetheart?" Tony told me. I shook my head. Cliff helped me up and I have never felt so weak."Hey has anybody seen Peter?"Nate asked."Crap. Ok guys lets get the rest and then we can go." Parker order.Cliff kept me close when we walked back to house but when we got to the doorway I couldn't go in."It's ok sweetie. You can do it."Cliff said pulling me closer. When stepped in there I felt someone pull my backwards. I screamed and turned to see it was Peter. The I yelled"What in the world Peter?" He looked shocked and shouted back,"Calm the freak down. I was just messing around!" I can't believe he would do that."Why are still in the house after what happened?" Tanner asked."Because I did it. It's something called special effects."Peter said. I looked at him very furious. "Why would you do that? Don't you know how hard it is for me to handle that? You know what? Don't answer that." I spat at him."Calm down. So what it looked like your dead sister?" He spat back. That's when I lost it I started punching him. Cliff pulled me off as quick as he could."Peter why?" I asked him. He didn't answer."You know what guys lets explore the rest of the house." I huffed. We walked away leaving him behind. It wasn't long until we heard a blood curdling scream and we ran back. Knifes were stabbed in both eyes. "Oh come on. Cut it out."Parker said. He didn't move. I ran over to him. I kept shaking him but he wouldn't move."Peter! Wake up! Please!" I screamed. I started to cry."P-Peter!" I screamed again. I hovered over his lifeless body. "Darling don't cry. He deserved this. Revenge is suppose to be sweet remember?" A female's voice said. When I looked up I was face to face with her.
