the first thing to talk about is your username. this is the name that is going to appear on the app to represent you so it's important to choose one that is unique and important to you.

as a fanfic writer, the most common ones are the ones that have a connection to whatever you're writing about. for example, if it's a band, many people will take words attributed to the band and put their own twist on it. some ideas include a twist on your bias' name or a famous quote.

this user chose their name from a kpop band. by taking the korean name (injun) of one of nct's member renjun, they twisted it so it would fit them. one, they found that usernames looked the best when uppercase or lowercase, in this case they chose lower case. by changing up the lettering and adding in a symbol because of how it added the final touch, that's how their username was created.

others choose to play a twist on something else to represent themselves. i'll use my own username as an example. before finding out about this platform, i used to write in a small sketchbook i owned and that was my place of organization. in fact, a lot of the plots i use are from what i wrote in there. so this is the inspiration behind my own name. but i've seen others use their real names or draw inspiration from other sources. in the end, it's all up to the writer.

hoseokmagico

this is the username of my collab partner and it can be put under both of the categories. one, it's taken inspiration from their favorite band's member, bts' jhope, aka hoseok. it also falls under the second because it started from a personal reason. after finding that their real name didn't truly represent who they are, they went under the nickname "hobi" and found out the celebrity had the same nickname as them. "magico" means magic/wizard in portuguese and so their name translates to "hoseok magic." 

but i find it important that this username represents a lot about yourself, even if it's a small name.
