Avoiding.

That's something I have been doing. "Do you like being called darling?" his words just keep replaying in my mind. As soon as the song finished I faked being sick and I ran to my room. Other than that I only leave when Elise calls dinner or an order from his father.

But I guess somewhere along the week of me avoiding him he got the hint and started keeping away to.

As I rolled to the other side of my bed there was a light knock on the other side of the door. "come in." I call. The door slowly peers open, revealing the light from the hallway and a figure.

"Were you asleep?" The figure asked. It wasn't a voice i've grown to know, it was more quiet but with a hint of demand. "At three in the afternoon?" I ask with a small chuckle.

"Right, duh, sorry my brain lacks sometimes." They said, and then walked into the room. more specifically someone who looks a lot like Jax. They share the same hair colour, eye colours, but there was something off about this one.

"I'm Eli, Jax's brother." He introduced himself, "Lyla, Lyla Hendrix." I stuck out my hand for him to shake, which he did.

"I just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. I don't hang around a lot, personal problems with my father. But it was nice meeting you." He said and offered a small which I returned. Before I could speak up and nother figure stood behind Eli and I almost yelped when I realized it was Jax. He slid a finger up to his mouth, silencing me without speaking.

I knew from the moment he silenced me he was going to scare Eli. I turn and acted as if I was doing something to hide the fact I was going to burst out in the laughter at any minute. I hear Jax's big 'boo!' and Eli screaming like a girl, and that's when I finally let it burst out.

"Th..that's not funny!" Eli said between pants.

Jax and I couldn't stop our laughter. Eli just made of a pissy face before storming off, but not before yelling, "It's not fucking funny!"

"You're just a baby!" jax yells at him. My laughter slowly dies down when reality hits that i'm in a room with Jax,

alone.

again.

I start to fidget with my hands and look down when Jax starts to move in more towards my room. "Can we talk?" He asks. There was something different about his tone that made me look up. There was a certain... vulnerability.

"I think that's a good idea," I murmur. He nods his head and moves so he is sitting on the edge of my bed. I sigh lightly, was I speaking first, or was he?

"I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable." I guess that answers my question.

"You.. you didn't,"

"Do you just run out of everything?" I asks, chuckling softly.

I smile softly, "yeah, sorta." This caused him to turn me and cock a brow. I sigh before speaking again, "I normally run.. when things get difficult, hard, I run."

"Oh.. I should have known," I look into his eyes, shooting daggers. That was highly offensive, "I didn't mean it that way, Lyla. I meant it like with the way your father is." he adds, my expression softens but I still narrow my eyes.

"My father? Elbortate."

"With the way he treated you,"

"I don't follow." My narrow eyes turn into confusion.

"Lyla, I know what he used to do to you." When those words came out of his mouth I froze. There was no way he knew. If he knew does his mother? and father? what were they going to do to me?

"Lyla, why didn't you tell me yourself? I had to figure it out myself. I don't like doing that."

"I-.. I have no idea what you're talking about. My father was as kind as could be." I said quickly, probably to quickly because I saw his jaw clench.

Not a good sign.

"I don't like liars, Lyla. The next time you lie to me, you will be punished." I tried my hardest to not let my fear show. He was only doing this because he assumed, he had no clue, he had no proof.

As he get up I flinched slightly, memories of my father coming to mind. I seen his jaw clench again as he muttered something under his breath. "I will find out what he did, Lyla. And when I do, he isn't going to survive." He looked my way and I could see the fire in his eyes.

His eyes looked deadly, one look and you'd die. I just nodded my head. I couldn't form sentences, my mind was fuzzy. my vision blurry. Throughout it all, I heard the door close and that's when I let the tears falls freely.
