They were sitting in the office part in the lab. Edmund kept silent during their explanation of the last few days. His face was stoic and hard to read, he just looked angry.
"Do you understand?" Lizzie asked. This must be so weird for him, waking up in the future. She felt bad, maybe they should've left him alone.
Edmund ignored Lizzie. "What is that?" He pointed at the computer on the desk. "It's called a computer. It's a device which helps us communicate and write stuff. A very advanced way of doing research." Lizzie tried to explain. It was hard, explaining every day objects to someone who has missed the last 300 years.
"I can show you." Steve offered and walked with Edmund to the computer. He seemed in awe. "Is this some kind of sick joke? Yesterday I was sailing with my crew into a storm and I woke up... here." He frowned like he just had some kind of epiphany. "So the legend it true."
"What the hell is he on about?" Mark asked.
"He's talking about the Lost Crown." Steve replied.
5 years ago, Travellers Tavern pub, Cambridge
Lizzie walked into the pub, looking for Lea. They met up every other Friday for a girls night ever since she had gotten together with Steve. Lizzie missed Lea a lot, but she had gotten closer to Mark now. Mark had a boyfriend too but at least he made some time to hang out with her.
Lizzie frowned when she saw Lea and Steve sitting at their usual table. This was the last straw and Lizzie snapped. "What the fuck Lea? This was supposed to be a girls night!"
"Well Lizzie, we have big news! Please sit down." Lea begged. The redhead sighed and sat down in front of the couple. "Alright, what do you want to tell me?"
Steve and Lea smiled at eachother and at the time time yelled "We're moving in together!"
Lizzie was in awe. She was speachless.
Lea's smile faded when Lizzie didn't reply with instant joy. "Liz? Aren't you happy for us?"
"Are you leaving me?"
"What? No! Steve is moving in with us! He can sleep in my bed of course." Lea smiled.
"So I'll be living with a couple who didn't ask for my consent first? I need some air, this is bullshit." Lizzie angrily walked out of the pub, holding back tears.

Lizzie sat down at a park bench, close to their appartment. She wasn't ready to go home yet and this was her favourite spot. She thought about how it took them ages to find the perfect apartment in the perfect neighbourhood. She wasn't ready for such a big change yet, especially not with a boy Lea has been dating for less than 4 months.
After a while a figure walked up to her, it was Lea. "Mind if I sit?" She spoke softly. "No, I don't mind." Lea sat down. "I'm surprised you came alone, where's Steve?" Lizzie asked with a snarky tone.
"Ditched him, this is between us. I owe you an apology. I know this is all moving really fast but it just feels so right. Steve is really sweet and he likes you too! I should've asked you first but I promise nothing will change between us. Please just give it a try?"
Lizzie nodded. She hated fighting with her best friend, besides it wouldn't be fair to say no before even giving Steve a shot. "Thank you. Sure, let's give it a try. I'm sorry too, for reacting the way I did."
Lea gave Lizzie a hug, even though Lizzie hated hugs she really needed one from her best friend. "Totally fine. Now let's go home and watch our favourite film."
"Pride and prejudice." Lizzie smirked.
