The Biggest Thing That Changed Me

I got up with a huge headache...my body all sweaty agh! I already know my day will suck I said as I get a taste from my morning breath.

I got up left my bed messy, and straight to my bathroom to get done with my business.

Heading downstairs. My nostrils tingle with the amazing pancake smell covering the kitchen's atmosphere I am so hungry I said pulling the chair out.

Mmmm... Mom! These pancakes taste so good! I said with my mouth full.

i knew you would say that said my mom adding some fresh strawberries to my dish. Thanks, mom I thanked her proudly.

Mom heads out the door for work leaving a list of groceries for me to buy with a little money next to it.

After breakfast I put the dirty dishes in the sink to soak. I grabbed the money and the list forced it into my shorts pocket and headed out.

Walking to the grocery store like a free bird busy listing to my favorite song with my pink air pods.

Okay so what should I get first I said as I read the list. I got everything I need so I head to the queue.

$30 in total said the cashier

OMG...I am short in money, it's okay, minus the potatoes I said awkwardly gluing my gaze to the floor.

'excuse me I'll pay for her' said a unknown guy. His fragrance makes me tingle as he moves closer handing his credit card to the cashier. Why...Why would a guy like him help a girl like me I cried in my thoughts.

'Th...thanks' , I said forcing the word out as I grab the bag of groceries.

On my way out he was following me from a distance. Don't worry his just on his way home I mumbled to myself.

'Hey!' he said calling out to me. I turned around, does he want something in return, no...no...no that can't be true fighting the dirty thoughts in my head.

As he approaches me, he sticks his hand out from his pocket I think you dropped this he said catching his breath.

oh yeah that's my bracelet I said awkwardly feeling guilty about what I thought of him I guess not everyone is the same.

'I'm Leo' he said out of no where as he scratches his head.

'I am Alice Goerge nice to meet you' I added putting my bracelet in my pocket.

there was a silent moment for a minute as we awkwardly stared at each other, the wind blowing his black hair as it covers his green eyes his skin dancing with the sun, he looks like five feet tall and handsome.

'I have to go now thanks for the bracelet' I said and continued walking leaving him behind.

I opened the front door and put the pack of groceries on the counter  'well that was awkward' talking to myself as I put away the groceries.

there was a knock on the door that made me flinch, 'I am coming!' I replied raising my voice as I walk to the front door leaving some of the groceries unpacked on the counter.

as I opened the door  'were you stalking me!' I said furiously closing the door shut. then I just remembered there was a Mercedes parked, 'could that be Leo's car he must be filthy rich then I said softly.

I opened the door,' I am sorry for what I did, but you have to explain why you followed me' I said squeezing my eyes and waiting for an answer.

'can I?' said Leo raising his eyebrows

'Yeah sure come in,' I said without even thinking. OMG, I just let him in and I don't even know him that well… I only know his name and he probably owns that Mercedes.

'you don't have to worry,' said Leo looking at me as I continue biting my nails. 'can I help you out with the groceries' he added

'yes you may,' I said

few minutes past as we talk, having our little chit chat the doorbell rang 'are you expecting someone?' Leo asked getting off from the counter.

not really, I replied as I walk towards the door 'm...mom you came early' I said forcing the words out feeling scared, what if she sees Leo WHAT then.

'Hunny I tried calling you to let you know that I was coming early.' said mom as she barged in so quick that I didn't have time to tell Leo to hide, my palms were sweating already.

'oh, I see you two met already what a surprise' mom said putting her car keys in her bag 'when did you come back from your trip?' mom asking Leo giving him a gentle smile.

'Just today,' said Leo with a huge smile on his face 'and it was fun!' he added

Mom walked towards the stairs, probably taking her nap.

'Leo! what!...why? you never told me that you knew my mom' I said my face turning red I can feel the heat, my little hands creating a fist.

Leo walked towards me 'look at me Alice, first I need you to calm down I will answer all your questions, okay?' said Leo reaching out to my left hand gently.

'fine I will calm down' pulling my hand out from his 'it has to be worth it' I added

'I will take you out tonight at seven?' said Leo looking straight into my eyes waiting for an answer.

I thought for a sec 'okay' lowering my gaze.

Leo turned and made a little dance 'it is a date right?' snapping his finger as he said it and freezes as he waits for my unswer.

"what...NO!" I said immediately after his question, not giving him a second thought.
