( chapter eight ) ❛ the bite ❜
THE CAR RIDE to the hospital was awkward, to say the least...
stiles and scott were both sitting in the front, while ellie and liam were in the back. ellie laid liam's leg on her lap, so it could be elevated.
they all sat in silence expect for the two 'geniuses' who sat in the front whispering to one another. liam kept stealing glances at ellie, and she did as well.
"so uh, did you see the mets game last night?" stiles tried to break the awkwardness.
"i'm a phillies fan," liam answered. ellie bit her lip, trying not to laugh knowing how her brother would react.
"phillies fan!?" stiles yelled. liam looked at him confused but nodded. scott shook his head while closing his eyes.
"maybe i should just leave you outside so you could walk- i mean hobble, to the hospital yourself."
ellie and scott both looked at stiles in a 'are you kidding me?' way. liam just squinted his eyes, looking offended.
"kidding. i'm kidding, obviously." stiles fake laughed, "not." he whispered by apologized once scott nudged him harshly.
"look!" ellie clapped her hands together, "we're here!"
everyone got out of the car, scott holding the car door as stiles and ellie helped liam out of the car and into the hospital.
"uh... hi, mom." scott said once he saw melissa mccall.
ellie gave her a big smile and stiles waved. melissa sighed.
"it was all them! not me!" ellie stated.
melissa chuckled and helped liam into a wheelchair, making sure to be careful with his foot.
"don't worry liam, we'll take good care of you." melissa gave him a warm smile. ellie smiled at liam and waved as melissa wheeled him away. he gave her a small smile back.
"i got to get going. i promised malia i'd help her study." stiles said once liam and melissa were out of sight.
"you coming elle?" ellie shook her head no and snorted, "yeah so i can walk in on you and malia again? no thank you." her brother rolled his eyes.
