Lurid

Part 2

It was now 10:30 p.m. Jonah had just finished flossing and brushing his teeth. Before going to bed, Jonah decided to go downstairs for a bit. He noticed Colin getting ready to watch a horror film on Amazon Prime.

"What are you gonna watch, Colin?" Jonah asked.

"Something called High Tension," Colin replied.

"Can I watch?"

"Sorry, but no. It's rated NC-17," Colin asserted. "That means no one 17 and under should see it."

"Aren't you scared to watch something like that after what's been going on?"

"Not really. Sometimes these movies can be an escape from the horrors of the real world."

Jonah looked puzzled. "Okay, then. I'm gonna go up to bed. Good night!"

"Good night."

After Jonah went up to his room, Colin started High Tension. The opening credits were rolling when Colin heard a scream. Thinking it came from the movie, he continued watching. Things changed when Colin listened to the doorbell ring. He went to the front door, turned on the front porch light, and saw a tall, dark-haired man wearing a black trench coat with scratches all over his face.

"Let me in! I have to hide!"

Colin turned off the light. Even though the man had severe injuries, there was no way he was letting him inside his house. Besides, it could easily be a Halloween prank.

He then went back into the living room to continue watching High Tension. About ten minutes later, Colin paused the film to use the bathroom. When he came out of the bathroom, he froze.

Colin could have sworn that the back door near the couch was closed.
