Rose

I woke up, but not in my bed
I looked up and saw photograph of a dad, but not my dad
The pillow I was on was a blue, not pink.
On the drawer beside the bed was a little pack of strings, not a camera.

This isn't home.

I almost fell out of the bed so I grabbed on to the drawer and tried to not make so much noise.

Let's talk about Siri. Great help when your lost and when you need her to do your math homework. But in this case Siri was a damn pain.

"Some things you could ask me, call Kathryn, where's the airport..."

"Stupid robotic helpful machine."

"That isn't very nice."said the the robotic machine, that at the moment I hated.

"Wasn't suppose to be nice."

And that's how I got in a fight with a robot inside my phone that I could easily turn off.

"What's all the argument about?" Said the voice that I really did not want to hear.

"Stupid Siri."

"Ha, been there done that." I stared at him giving him that, look.

"What, how-" his response was quick and sharp, "dont ask."

"Um how have you been feeling."

I threw the blanket off my legs. "great." I stood up and lost my balance and fell.

He grabbed my hand with his, and my waist with the other.

"Thanks, and sorry for wasting your time."

"It's okay, and sorry for hurting you."

I hadn't even remembered what had happened until I realized what happened the day before.

Just the thought that I would have to wait 18 months to see him, to hug him, to have his shoulder to cry on is heart breaking for me.

"It's okay, you didn't know." I said in a weak voice.

He stuck out his hand, I stared at it. I then pushed his hand away and hugged him.

My armed were around his neck and for a second he didn't know what to do. Slowly he wrapped his hands around my waist.

"Thank you."
