A/N: Hey everyone, so sorry for the break I took, I'm just very busy! Hope you enjoy this chapter, I made it extra long to make up for all the missed time, too xx

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To say that you were lost was an understatement. You finished your studies and didn't know what to do next. Unsure whether you should continue studying or get a job you decided to travel instead. Of course, you couldn't just pick up your things and go since you had very little savings and your family was nowhere rich enough to fund your vacations on a whim like that.

You looked into becoming an au pair but after searching for a while only found offers in places that seemed too boring to help you find yourself or even enjoy your time there. This made you look for other options and you found one that suited you well – a live in assistant for a family. This offer stood out for many reasons – for one, unlike most others, this family lived in a lovely neighborhood in Rome, offered very flexible hours and a lot of benefits such as meals with the family, a bike to get around the city and much more. After triple checking your letter with the CV attached you sent the email and went on with your day. A week passed until you got the call saying that you're accepted and were expected to spend 3 months with the David family.

You packed up, said your goodbyes and went on a soul searching journey to a country you've never been to before. Sure, it wasn't exactly a vacation since you'd have to help around the house for this family since the parents are busy with work and the kids are grown so they just come and go as they please. You knew they had two sons – one of them lived in the house you'd be staying in and the older one was in between two cities but came over regularly. Many thoughts passed your mind while you were on the plane but sooner than you expected it landed and you were in Rome. Alone, excited and looking forward to what the next 3 months will bring.

After getting your luggage you went out, found a taxi and gave him the address to the house you'd be staying in. The drive wasn't too long but it gave you enough time to look around and get the first glimpse of the city you'd be calling home for now. Once you arrived at your destination the David family was already outside. They looked like a sweet couple but the kids were nowhere to be seen. You got out and the man got your luggage while the woman paid for the taxi.

"It's so nice to have you here! I know we already spoke on the phone but I'm Rossella, but you can call me Rose, and this is my husband Daniele." Said the woman.

"I'm so glad to be here too, it's nice to meet you in real life!" you replied.

As Mr. David took your luggage inside you explored the garden and the house together with Rose, talking a bit about what you'd have to do here starting from tomorrow on. Your flight wasn't too long and you felt fine to start today but they insisted you take the day to settle in and unpack. Both of them were flight attendants so they needed someone to take care of the house while they were away a couple of times per month. Other times they could use the help so that they could focus on renovating another little house they just bought in Rome.

The house they lived in was neither too big nor too small. It had character and charm and you felt like home immediately. Still, once they took you to the room you'd be staying in you were a little surprised.

"So, since we needed you to come here as soon as possible we didn't have time to fix the door in the guest room so we were hoping you'd be okay to stay here for a bit?" Rose asked before continuing further. "This is the room our older boy, Damiano, stays in but he hasn't been here in a bit and we put on new bedsheets and cleaned it out for you. The top two drawers are emptied for you, I'm really sorry for the inconvenience but we will fix the door in the next few days and then you'll be settled in."
