Descendants belongs to Disney. I only own my characters and this story.

Once upon a time, long, long ago... well... more like twenty years ago...
Belle married her Beast in front of 6,000 of their closest personal friends... big cake! Yeah, so instead of a honeymoon, Beast united all of the kingdoms and got himself elected King of the United States of Auradon.
He rounded up all the villains and the sidekicks, basically all the really interesting people, and he booted them off to the Isle of the Lost with a magical barrier to keep them there.
This, is my hood. No magic, no Wi-Fi, no way out... or so I thought.
Hang on, you're about to meet us, but first, this happened.

A young brunette prince was looking out the window at the Isle of the Lost as he stood on a small platform. This prince was Ben, son of King Adam and Queen Belle.

"Sleeve...head...ah-ha..." the tailor muttered, he turned Ben's attention away from the Island as he was taking measurements with a measuring tape.

Ben was currently being fitted for his coronation. Soon Ben will become King of Auradon. He knew he had to tell his parents about his first proclamation soon and he was nervous about how they would react. But he also was thinking of all those innocent children who were living on that island just because of who their parents are.

Just then his parents walked in the room arm-in-arm, smiling proudly at their son.

"How is it possible that you're going to be crowned king this month," said King Adam, "You're just a baby."

"He's turning sixteen, dear," Queen Belle reminded her husband.

"Hey, pops," Ben greeted his father, as Adam kept talking.

"Sixteen!" he exclaimed, "That's far too young to be crowned king. I didn't make a good decision until I was at least, forty-two."

Belle scoffed, "Uh, you decided to marry me at twenty-eight."

"Well it was either you or a tea pot," Adam joked winking at his son. Ben chuckled a little as his father said, "Kidding."

Ben decided now would be a good time to tell his parents his first royal proclamation. He was going to step off the platform towards his parents, but the tailor held him back and Ben returned to his original spot.

"Mom, Dad. I've chosen my first official proclamation," their son said. His parents exchanged looks, before turning back to their son, excited to hear it. "I've decided that the children on the Isle of the Lost should be given a chance... to live here in Aurodon."

His father's face fell and Belle dropped the shirt she was starting to fold.

"Every time I look out to the island, I feel like they've been abandon," Ben explained gesturing toward the Isle as he got down from the platform to talk with his parents.

"The children of our sworn enemies living among us?" King Adam asked, hoping that he misheard Ben.

"We start out with a few at first, only ones who need our help the most," Ben assured them with a smile, Belle nodded at this, "I've already chosen them."

"Have you?" Adam asked skeptically walking up to his son.

Belle put her hand on his arm, "I gave you a second chance," she reminded her husband and he was silent, then she looked back at her son, "Who are their parents?"

"Cruella De Vil, Jafar, Evil Queen," Ben paused hesitantly, "The Horned King and Maleficent."
The tailor gave a small shriek at the mention of the two most terrifying villains. "THE HORNED KING!? MALEFICENT!?" Adam shouted. "They are two of the worst villains in the land."

"Dad just hear me out here," Ben pleaded.

"I won't hear of it," King Adam snapped as the tailor and servants left the room. "They are guilty of unspeakable crimes!"

"Dad, their children are innocent," Ben argued, "Don't you think they deserve a shot a normal life?" The king didn't respond, "Dad..."

Queen Belle looked at her husband, telling him silently she agrees with their son.

King Adam sighed, "I suppose... the children are innocent." Adam turned to leave, but waited for his wife.

Belle smiled at her son, "Well done," she said softly fixing his coat, then walked to her husband, "Shall we?" and they left the room.

Ben turned his attention back to the window and he stared back at the island. Toying with his ring while looking out the window, Ben could only hope he made a good decision and that he can help these children.
