I'm sorry I haven't been doing any uploading lately. I've been busy with a lot of things.
After classes ended, Hava was outside looking for her friends. She stopped when she saw Evie talking with Doug at one of the tables making Hava smile, as they looked like they were starting to hit it off.
"I'm just glad she's over Prince Not At All Charming," Hava said to herself. Hava heard of what happened when she left the Tourney field and honestly she thought it was for the best. In Hava's eyes, Evie was a gem and way too good for a pile of trash like Chad Charming. Honestly Audrey and Chad deserved each other as far Hava was concern, as they were both garbage. "I just hope Doug does treat Evie right."
When Hava saw Mal walking toward Evie and Doug she grabbed hold of her jacket to stop Mal from going any further. "Don't ruin their moment!" Hava told her.
"Hava I have to talk with Evie," Mal said to her, looking agitated, "Ben just....asked me out on a date."
"He asked you out on a date?" Hava asked, "That's wonderful!"
Mal nods, "Now could you let go?"
Hava nods and lets go of Mal's jacket. Mal then walks over to Evie and Doug with Hava following behind.
"There you are! I've been looking for you literally everywhere!" Mal said to Evie.
"What's wrong?" Evie asked.
Mal slapped her hands down on the table. "Ben just asked me out on..." Hava gave Mal a little nudge. "a date," Mal said. Doug chuckled at that.
"We can handle this," Evie said and then looked at Doug, "Bye."
"Bye," Doug said to Evie.
Evie then went over to her two friends, looking at Mal. "You're looking a little pale."
"Yeah, of course," Mal agrees.
"I can fix that with some gloss and some blush," Evie said.
"Just don't go overboard Evie, because the last time, which was also my first time, when you were this excited to do my hair and makeup my father gave me a 3 hour face scrub down," Hava remarks.
"Men don't understand the importance of makeup." Evie argues, making Hava roll her eyes.
All three girls were back in their dorm. Evie was helping Mal with applying makeup, while Hava just sits on her bed and watches.
"Okay, easy with the blush." Mal said as Evie was helping Mal put on makeup. "I don't want to scare him away."
"Mal, he's under a love spell, you could be dressed as a pink elephant or a hippo in a tutu and he would still think you're the most gorgeous thing ever," Hava reminds her, and then frowns and mutters, "I can't believe I just let that thought come into my head. Hippos do not look good in tutus."
"Yeah, don't worry Mal." Evie insisted. "My mom taught me how to apply blush before I could talk, always use upward strokes."
"My mom was never really big on makeup tips." Mal replied.
"What about you Hava?" Evie asks, "You never told us about your mom."
"I honestly don't even know who she is Evie," Hava admits with a shrug.
Mal and Evie looked at her in surprise and shock. "You mean your dad never told you about your mom?" Mal asked.
Hava replies, "Daddy didn't like talking about my mother, he wouldn't even tell me her name. But my dad did say this, I was sent to the Isle after I was born and was given to him by my mother and that she didn't even say a word when she did, she just gave me to him and then left. The gods who were with my mother had explain to Daddy that I was his daughter, his daughter and my mother's. He also did say that I have my mother's hair and skin color, and of course he told me that my mother is a goddess."
"Like Aphrodite and Athena?" Evie asks.
"Yes, but I highly doubt it's one of them. I mean Aphrodite doesn't know the difference between love and lust, so she wouldn't be my father's type. As for Athena, goddess of wisdom, ha, more like goddess of blind and pathetic jealousy, after what she did to poor Medusa," Hava scoffs, and then says, "No, even though my father wanted the Black Cauldron to be a god among the mortals, and the only type women he would be attracted to would be goddesses, it would've had to be a goddess of something he would also like, like a goddess of darkness or a goddess of death, maybe when I get the chance I might look into it."
"So you never got to do any... girl stuff?" Evie asked.
"I guess it depends on what you mean by girl stuff," Hava responds, "After all I am a princess. I mean I'm half demon and half god, but still a princess."
"You know none of us ever had sisters that we could apply makeup on," Mal pointed out as Evie was applying gloss.
"I remember when I was little I would crave for a sister all the time, a younger one, not an older one," Hava replies, but then shrugs, "But I guess as I got older I got so used to being an only child and I didn't think of it as much."
"Well now we have each other. We're going to need all the family we can get if we don't pull this off. My mother isn't a barrel full of laughs when she doesn't get her way. Just ask Snow White," Evie told them.
"Are you afraid of her?" Mal asked.
"Sometimes," Evie admits. "Are you afraid of your mom?"
"I just want her to be proud of me," Mal said after a bit of thinking. "She gets so angry with me when I disappoint her. And I know she's my mom and she loves me, in her own way.
Hava looked sadly at her friends. She always knew she was one of the luckiest girls in the world to have a villain for a father who still loved her and was always there for her, which was why she became a protector to some of the younger VKs, and not just for Carlos. She once had a nightmare when she was five where he would yell at her every time she spoke or threw into the dungeon alone for several hours. But when she told her dad of it, The Horned King assured that would never ever happen, he even let the Gwythiants sleep with her for the rest of the night.
"What about you Hava? Have you ever been afraid of your dad?" Mal asks.
Hava smiled and shook her head. "No, not at all, not even when his eyes are glowing red."
Evie then decided to change the subject, "Moving on. Come see."
Mal stepped up in front of the mirror and gasped. "Oh."
"I know right." Evie smiled.
"I look..." Mal starts.
"Say it," Evie encouraged.
"Not hideous," Mal said.
Hava smirks and chuckles a little, "Only you would say that Mal."
Mal heard a knock on the door and answered it to see Ben. After seeing how Mal looked Ben replies, "For the first time, I understand the difference between pretty and beautiful. I hope you like bikes." With that they left.
After Evie closed the door, Hava frowns. "I swear if Ben tries anything funny I will skin him alive and add his corpse to my father's collection."
For those of you who are wondering, Hava's mother is a villain too, but in the expanded universe. I also gave a hint on who it is. Also about what Athena did to Medusa, she cursed her for being raped by Poseidon, god of the sea.
In the next chapter, Hava has some fun with Talia and a moment with Emrys.
