"Well, I don't want to go with you, anymore ok?" Chase, my date to the snowball screams in my face. I have been so excited to go to the snowball with him, all to see it go to waste. And to make it even better, Chase is ditching me for my ex-best friend, Belle.

Tears stream down my face as I walk out the door of the school. The snowball was tonight, and now I didn't even have a date to go with. I run into Max as she grabs my arm, making me stop. "Y/N, what happened?" Max says as she pulls me into a hug. I cry into her shoulder, trying to get my words out. "Chase ditched me for Belle, so now I have no one to go to the snowball with," I say, disappointment filling my voice. "Oh, Y/N, I'm so sorry, he doesn't deserve you anyway. Maybe you can go with Mike, I think El was going with Will," Max says trying to make me feel better.

"I know you've always had a teensy crush on himmm" I laugh at Max, not denying what she just said. I didn't think that Mike would want to go with me, I wasn't really his type.

Me and Max head to my house, rushing to my room to get ready for the snowball. Since she lives right next door, she runs over and grabs her dress, (i know, shocker, max in a dress, just imagine her in a red simple knee-length dress) throwing on her sneakers. I told her that you don't wear sneakers with a dress, but she didn't care.

After my quick shower, I grab my light blue dress that goes right at my knees. My dress was similar to Max's, hers just plain red while mine was a light blue with sparkles all over it. I sit down to do my makeup. I don't do much, just some concealer, light blue eyeshadow, and mascara.

Max grabs my silver high heels, the clock almost reaching 6:00. My mom honks the car, signaling us to come outside. We rush into the car, arriving at school in a few minutes.

My anxiety starts up again as Max grabs my hand, telling me not to worry. As we walk in, the gym is decorated with disco balls and streamers. We walk around, seeing Will, El, Dustin, Lucas and Mike sitting at a table. "Hi guys!" I say happily, "You all look so nice!"

They all say their 'thank you's' as Nancy walks over and starts dancing with Dustin. Max walks over to Lucas, guiding him into a dance while me, El, Will, and Mike stand there awkwardly.

"Y/N, do you want to dance?" Mike says quietly. I stare at him shocked, building up the courage to say, "Yeah, but I don't know how to."

"Neither do I," he says as I walk over to him and he takes my hand, admiring my dress. "What are you looking at?" I say, confused as to why he was staring at me.

"You look pretty, really pretty, that's why," Mike says out of focus. I blush a deep red, my heart starting to flutter at his words.

"Thank you, you look really nice too," I say as our faces become only an inch apart. Suddenly, Mike places his lips onto mine, and I kiss back, shocked. His hand brushes my cheek softly, my stomach erupting with butterflies every second.

I pull away and rest my forehead against his as we slow dance throughout the gym. Mike's eyes don't leave mine, his brown eyes softening at each glance. Right as the song ends, Mike grabs my hand and pulls me into a hug. I wrap my arms around his back as he says, "Y/N, will you be my girlfriend?" I pull away with shock but realize I really do want to. I say happily, "Of course I will Mike."

The biggest smile appears on his lips as another song begins to play. Everyone around us starts dancing again, while me and Mike do not move. He crashes his lips onto mine, the music fading as our lips move in sync. I couldn't have been more glad that I chose to come here today.
