𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐲'𝐬 𝐏𝐎𝐕:

I was super excited for today because Kiara was going to introduce me to her other friends. My nerves kicked in, and I worried that they wouldn't like me because I was a kook. Pogues have a tendency to assume that all kooks were spoiled and obnoxious, but not me.

30 minutes later, Kie shows up infringe of my house with her truck. I run inside as she leans over and hugs me. "Hey, girl! Are you excited to meet the gang?" She says excitedly. I look at my hands and respond, "Yeah, I guess." She tells me not to worry and starts driving to John B's chateau.

As we arrive, I see Sarah, who's been my best friend since Kindergarten, and three boys sitting on the porch. I recognize one to be John B, but I have no idea who the other two are.

My eyes land on the blond-haired boy, his blue eyes meeting mine.

𝐉𝐉'𝐬 𝐏𝐎𝐕:

I see Kie's truck pull up on the driveway, not expecting two people to get out of it. The second girl is stunning, her brown hair dangling off her back, her blonde highlights dazzling in the sun. Her eyes meet mine as I blush and look away, wondering who she is.

"Hey, guys! This is Marley, one of my best friends! Marley, the pogues, pogues, Marley," Kie says introducing the beautiful girl next to her. I barely caught her name as I couldn't take my eyes off Marley. I smile and say, "Hey Marley, I'm JJ, it's nice to meet you." She smiles and waves, her smile practically lighting up the world.

The others go inside with Kie to bring out drinks, leaving just me and Marley. God is she beautiful. She motions for me to sit down, so I do. "So, how long have you lived in the outer banks?" I ask Marley. "A few months, I met Kie when I first moved here and we became best friends instantly," I smile and stare into her eyes. We start talking about surfing and some of our favorite moves. When everyone else comes back out, we are a laughing mess.

"What are you guys laughing about?" John B says with a smirk on his face. "Nothin, nothin," JJ murmurs quickly. We all sit around the table and the hammock and talk for hours. As it starts getting late, Sarah and Kie head home while Pope and John B head inside to get some sleep. Me and Marley are left alone again, laughing about a video we saw earlier.

I get lost staring at Marley as she snaps her fingers in front of my face. "Hey, what's up?" She asks confused. I look down embarrassed, but there's something I really want to ask her.

"Uh, Marley?" I say quietly. She snaps her head up to look at me, telling me to continue. "I know we just met, but would you maybe wanna go on a date with me?" I say, scared of what her response will be.

Her mouth drops open, staring at me with wide, confused eyes. "You...you want to go on a date with me?" Marley asks, pointing to herself. I nod confused, not understanding why anybody wouldn't want to go on a date with her.

"I would love to!" She exclaims happily. I smile happily and get up to hug her. We end up talking on the hammock, Marley falling asleep in my arms.
