Chapter 24

Youngjae's pov

My head tumbled as I ended the call with Jinyoung with much difficulty putting my phone away as carefully as I could.

"can't you drive faster" i asked

"This is as fast as I can go, do you want me to get arrested or something?" Mina said as she changed the gear, driving a little faster then before.

"who will arrest you this late" I wanted to say but didn't. Instead I held onto my tumbling hand tightly , looking at the front mirror to see if someone's following us only to find nothing, the night as dark as ever with little to no sign of life.

Even the moon has taken a leave today leaving only darkness behind as we moved on the road with the light from the car as our only reassurance.
All I wanted was to get home to the comfort of the haven I had created for myself for hiding my greatest treasure and myself.

Her sweet but vanamus voice still rang in my ears almost as if it's hugging me into the darkness but not to comfort me but to keep me still, almost as if to imprison me for my past sins  .

Flashback

"Thanks for your time today , we'll see each other at the site next week" the contractor for one of my new projects shook my hands, the meeting we had going on for hours ended.

I came to a nearby city for this meeting, It took up a lot of my time today but the project was a great investment so it was fine.

"Let's go back then" I said to my assistant who was also one of my only trusted friends, Mina.

"I'm starving, how about we go get dinner first?" she asked as we made our way to the parking.

"Fine by me, but we have to make it quick. I promised Mark that I'll get home early today. I think he has something to tell me" I said as I opened the car door, settling myself on the back seat.

Mina was looking at something in her purse before she quickly knocked at my window.
"I think I forgot my phone at the meeting hall. Just wait a little I'll go and get it" and with that she was already running away.

I could only sigh as the tiredness from the day drowned over me, I closed my eyes to get a quick nap when I heard some rustling sounds from the back, at once my ears stood up as i jerk myself awake looking out the window to see what it was, but a strong hand from behind was quick to stop me from moving any further locking me in place .

My heart was in a panic at the sudden presens the tiredness long forgotten, I pushed my inner self to calm .

"who is it" i asked with the calmest voice i could master but my loud heartbeat probably already gave me away, the person in the back suddenly moved near my ears, I could hear the small and steady breath of air they were taking, along with the closeness came the scent of grape and cigarette, while it could be weirdly pleasant to most it only made cold sweat break out my neck.

My eyes shifted to the window where I could see a dark finger slowly came to light, gray eyes looking back at me from the reflection"nice to see you again youngjae, remember me? " her crimson red lips lifted in a smirk sending shivers down my spine.

"Siyeon" I breathed out, her smirk slowly turned to a much familiar smile I always knew .

"it's a surprise you still remembered me" the smile on her face almost made me melt, my heart nearly stopped from how real it looked.

"what do you want" i gritted out to distract myself from her smile, her eyes shifted from the grey they always were to the dark crimson matching her lips.

"wow wow wow, youngjae now where is your manners , is this how you greet your friend you met after almost a decade" her voice sounded sweet ,friendly even, but the way she said friends made me shiver .
