Ahead of a press conference to be held at 11:00 CET on Wednesday morning, Messi made his first statement as a Paris Saint-Germain player.

"I am excited to begin a new chapter of my career at Paris Saint-Germain. Everything about the club matches my football ambitions," said the diminutive superstar who has four Champions League titles and a recently acquired Copa America in an awe-inspiring trophy cabinet. "I know how talented the squad and the coaching staff are here. I am determined to help build something special for the club and the fans, and I am looking forward to stepping out onto the pitch at the Parc des Princes."

And it's a fairly safe bet that the better part of France - and indeed the world - are looking forward to seeing one of the game's greats bring the magic to France!
