On the cards for days, the biggest transfer in French football history was completed late on Tuesday night as Paris Saint-Germain secured the services of the legendary Argentine on a two-year free transfer from sole previous club FC Barcelona.

Messi is a Parisian! With most of the footballing world still coming to grips with the idea of seeing the six-time Ballon D'Or playing for club other than Barça, everyone in France is pinching themselves now that it's official he will be doing so in the French capital.

After spending his entire career thus far turning out for Catalan giants FC Barcelona, Lionel Messi, 34, is set to call the Parc des Princes home after putting pen to paper on a two-year deal that will link him to the capital club through to 2023 and perhaps beyond should the option for a third year be activated.
