[Y/n's pov]

Here I am again, shamelessly standing next to Ayato as he stalks his senpai, Taeko Yamada. This has been going on for a few days now after he bumped into her on the first day of school. Now here we are... I've known him for what? 4 years? 6 years? And have never seen him smile, well smile as genuine as now. It makes my stomach turn when I see that someone he just met can make him smile like that, when I've been trying for years. I let out a sigh.

"Hey, Ayato, I'm gonna go ahead today." I say getting tired of watching someone I like fawning over someone else, but of course not showing it.

"Huh? Oh sure." he said back, not taking his eyes off Taeko.

I walked off after giving a last glance at him. 'Hah... not even gonna look at me when you're talking' I thought.

I walked in the school and saw that many people were looking at me. 'What the heck? Why are they looking at me like that? Do I have something on my face?' I walked up to some boys who were looking at me as well and asked them.

"I'm sorry but do I have something on my face? Everyone seems to be looking at me like I do." I say politely.

The boys blushed a bright red. "Huh?" was one of my thoughts before they spoke.

"ah-I... Um... w-well that's because you're very pretty and it's our first time seeing you without that weird person next to you. A l-lot of us thought you were dating." one of the guys said in a blushing mess.

I blushed madly not because they think I'm pretty but because they thought I was dating Ayato. And that thought made me flustered.

"A-ah n-no! W-we are not dating! We are just f-friends." I said trying to control my stutter as my head was spinning around.

They all seem to have brightened up when I said I wasn't dating, but I didn't catch it.

"W-well i'll be going now." I bow quickly before rushing to my classroom, again with eyes on me.

That's when it happened. "BANG"

I stumbled backwards and landed on by butt.

"Ahw f*ck!" I said while rubbing my head to ease the pain from the fall. 'How the hell did I fall?'

"Awch" a voice could be heard.

'Ah sh*t" was my thought as I quickly got up to help the other person while apologising non-stop with my head down.

"Umm hey it's fine. Please stop apologizing, I wasn't paying attention where I was going too." The male's voice that came out was so sweet and gentle.

I looked up and finally took in his appearance. He has short soft brown hair with a mint green headdress. And wears an armband on the left side, must be from the cooking club. 'Wow, he's really cute.' I thought before snapping back to reality.

"Ah, I'm so sorry again. My name is Y/n, Y/n L/n." I said, giving him a closed eye smile.

"Y-yes same here. I'm Amao, nice to meet you Y/n." replying with a slight blush across his face which I snuggled off.

We talked a bit before being interrupted by the bell. We said our goodbye to go to class, I was about to leave when I heard him say.

"Ah! Y/n would you like to eat lunch with me in the cooking club!"

"S-sure!" giving a big smile before going to class.

[Time skip-in class]

My heart was beating so fast, I have never actually talked with others, more or less eaten lunch with someone other than Ayato. I never really bothered to talk to people since I had Ayato with me but....maybe I should, now that he found his senpai. Making new friends, the thought of it makes me excited. I couldn't stop myself from smiling. With that I didn't notice stares coming from the one and only Ayato.

[Ayato's pov]

I was stalking my senpai as usual. Looking at her made my heart flutter fast. She made me happy, she made me complete. That's why I can't let anyone else have her. And I have to start with him, Osano.

'How dare he yell at my senpai, always being rude to her. I have to eliminate him before he becomes a nuisance.' I thought as I tightened my grip on the tree I was hiding behind.

"Hey, Ayato, I'm gonna go ahead today." a voice said.

"Huh? Oh sure." I didn't bother to take my eyes off of senpai for a second.

Still deep in thoughts as I watch my senpai from afar. She is so perfect and beautiful. Then Osano had to ruin my moment by saying something to her blushing.

'Damn it. I'm too far away to hear. Seems like I need to get rid of him soon' I thought.

"Hey, Y/n can you help me later at lunch?" I asked (more like tell) her, but when I didn't hear a response I finally took my eyes off of senpai to turn around.

'Huh? Did she....leave?' My thoughts started to go around in circles wondering where she went, but I didn't bother to go find her since I need to make sure senpai gets to class safely.

[time skip]

After making sure senpai was safe I walked to class expecting Y/n to be there (they are in the same class btw). But when I entered she wasn't.

'Where the hell is she? She doesn't talk to anyone other than me. And she's not in a club. So what could she possibly be doing.' I was thinking till the bell rang.

"Still not here?" I mumbled.

Then she came in slightly out of breath. She wasn't late since the teacher wasn't here yet but still. I waited for her to take her seat which was diagonale to mine to ask her where she was. But when I saw her I completely froze.

She was....smiling?

I stared at her even during class as two thoughts flooded my mind. Why was she smiling? And what made her smile like that? Well I'm certainly going to ask her during lunch.
