chapter thirty

chapter thirty - its over.

It was over. Any semblance of a future was gone. But you were oddly content with it. You lied in the arms of your lover as she stroked your head. For the first time in years, nothing mattered. Your mind wasn't scattered with anxiety or the concept of death. You were at peace. Death could arrive at the door any minute, but it didn't matter, because at least you would die with the woman you love. To think you had given up everything for her didn't scare you - or make you second guess yourself - it was just something you had done. She made you feel safe, and she loved everything about you. You never doubted that.

Wilhemina's POV

It was relieving to Wilhemina that you had stayed. Obviously she would never admit it, but she was. Losing you was too much. The idea of it alone was enough to led her to almost slitting her wrists, which was absolutely humiliating from her perspective. Dying didn't scare her anymore. It did just fourty minutes ago when she was climbing into the bathtub, but with the warmth of you in her arms and her fingers in your hair, she wasn't scared anymore. She loved you. Every single thing about you. The way you laughed, and the tiny snores that came out of you while you slept. She loved your strength and the scars along your body that proved it. She loved your kindness and most importantly, the person you had turned her into. There wasn't a single bad thing about you. You had made her human again. You were the only person she would ever love.

"I love you so much. You saved me y/n." She whispered into your ear quietly, thinking you were asleep.

"I love you too." you replied. "I wouldn't be alive without you."

And neither would she. If only you knew.

authors note : and thats a wrap. its been forever since i started this and this story in itself has helped my writing grow so much. i never thought anything would come out of this story, and started it in a google document, never planning on posting it anywhere. thank you all so much for reading this, it means the world to me <333 i should be starting another story soon, im just not sure what character to use, but i already have a plot chosen ;) i really hope you liked the story and again thank you so much if youve made it this far, and especially if youve been here since i started 🤍 i also have three other stories, one of them is a full fan fiction and the other two are one shots if those are of any interest to any of you !
