Walking into school the next day I couldn't help but be drawn to the negatives at hand
I love Tessa and I can't believe I've hurt her in the way that I have but on the other hand I have the problem of I never wanted to hurt Katie which is why I never told either of them
I know it's a dick move, I know I should have known at some point this would happen.. Neither of them deserved to be hidden like that
"Hey man why are you so mopey" Jacob asked messing up my hair, I glanced over to the locker opposite us to see Tessa stood there smiling at her phone, knowing the pair. Allie was probably texting her
"I don't want to talk about it" I muttered
"What aren't we talking about?" Maya asked coming over with Katie
"Nothing apparently" Jacob said kissing her cheek
"Can I talk to you Katie" I asked, as soon as her name left my lips I could feel Tessa's attention shift to us
"Sure" she smiled taking my hand and walking out
This was a now or never moment, she deserves this much at least
"Whats up" She asked trying to cuddle up to me
"You deserve more Kay" I said making her sit up straight
"What?" She asked
"I can't do this anymore, I can't put you through this" I said
"Put me through what? What is going on?" she asked scared
"I don't know what we are, but I've been in love with someone else for 4 years now" I bowed my head letting my hands run through my hair
"What?" She whispered
"who?" She asked
"how?" she continued
"Tessa" I muttered and she then bowed my head
"That explains her freak out when she saw us yesterday" she replied
"Yeah, I never wanted to hurt you Kay, I love you too but I think it is more sisterly?" I suggested and she nodded
"I get it I guess, I always felt like there was something missing between us" She said
"Can I ask what happened with Tessa?" she asked, I looked at her knowing full well if I could see hurt on her face I wouldn't continue but it was just pure curiosity
"I've spent every weekend, every holiday, every evening with her for the last 4 years, over the last 2 years we grew closer until I got her to agree to a date and I fell hard Kay I really did" I said
"But I've messed it all up now" I whispered, she placed a hand on my cheek
"Is she worth the fight?" She asked and I nodded
"Then as much as I hate to say it, you need to fight for her Caleb, Fight for that love because you don't get more then one" She smiled, I smiled back at her and nodded

"So you and I have a lot more in common then I realised" Katie chuckled coming to sit with me at Lunch, I looked at her confused
"Caleb told me about you and him" She confirmed, I took a deep breath in
"I didn't know about you I promise" I said and she smiled at me
"There are no hard feelings I promise you that Tessa" She laughed
"I came to see if you are okay, yesterday must have been a lot" She said, she sounded sincere
"I'm okay I think. I think I just need time to get myself past this little bump" I explained
"Whats in the cards for the pair of you though?" she asked and I shrugged
"At the moment I can't even talk to him without crying" I explained and she nodded
"I don't blame you for second" She said placing her hand on top of mine
"can I say something" She asked, I hesitantly nodded
"Caleb loves you, he loves you the way I could only ever wish a guy would love me. I think when the time is right you should hear him out" She said, I bowed my head
"I don't know if I can" I replied
"I don't know you Tessa but something tells me you are a fighter, you'll get passed this. I can feel it" She smiled
"Thanks Katie" I replied
"Anytime Tessa, now don't be a stranger okay?" She offered, I smiled and nodded before she opened her arms offering me a hug, I smiled and happily hugged her back
