August 16, 2000: Barry Allen's Childhood Home

Six year old Barry Allen woke up to the sound of a thunderstorm, and the feeling that something was off.

He lifted himself out of bed, noticing that the water in his fishbowl was floating outside of the fishbowl, fish and all. Choosing to ignore it, he went downstairs, only to be greeted by something impossible:

His mother. Surrounded by what can only be described as a living storm. Red and yellow lightning surrounded his mother, the bolts of electricity seemingly...fighting?...around her. It was as if the red lightning was trying to hurt his mom, while the yellow lightning stopped it from getting any closer.

He yelled out for his mother, who yelled out his name in return, when suddenly the two streaks of lightning were interrupted by a third, a blue flash of lightning which immediately swept up Barry. Before he even knew what was happening, he was on the side of the road standing next to a young man in glasses.

Matt wandered around the neighborhood, not sure where he was, but he was glad he managed to escape from the hulking man he saw before. No way did he want to run into him again.

After a couple minutes of exploring, he found an abnormal house. As in, there was a lightning storm taking place INSIDE of the house. As you can probably guess, that's something you don't see everyday.

Looking in the window, he saw there were two streaks of lightning, one that matched Future Barry's lightning, and one he didn't recognize, one that was red.

Wait, was that a woman in the middle of the storm?

Hearing her scream out her son's name, and seeing the young boy standing nearby, it became clear to Matt that this was Barry's old house. He knew he had to act. What if the kid Barry got hurt? Speeding inside, Matt grabbed the child, and, finding a street a couple blocks away, put the kid down.

Now
Matt, knelt down next to Barry.
"Um...hi Barry. This probably doesn't make any sense to you, but I don't have time to explain. I'm going to go see if I can help your mother. In the meantime, I need you to run and get help from the police, okay?"

Not sure what was going on, Barry nodded, to which the young man gave a small smile before vanishing in a flash of blue lightning.

When Matt returned to the house, the pair of lightning storms were still going at it. As the Flash tried to save his mother, whoever was using the red lightning was stopping him at every turn, hitting Barry from the living room and into other parts of the house. Now that the bad guy was occupied at the moment, Matt seized the opportunity, and ran inside to help Barry's mom.

Nora Allen yelled out to the younger man, asking, "Please! Where is my son? Is he alright?"

M: "Don't worry ma'am, I got him to safety. But in the meantime, I need to stop whatever is going on in this house. Can you leave or hide somewhere?"

Nora: "Yes. There's a closet by the stairs, but that's where that weird storm is right now."

M: "Don't worry, I can try and get its attention so you can get somewhere safe. In the meantime, stay here. Kind of a contradictory statement, but let's roll with it."

She hesitantly nodded, fearing for hers and her son's life as Matt ran to the part of the house where the two figures were fighting. One was in red: Barry, while the other one was wearing a faded yellow suit, but it was hard to make out the details since they were moving so fast.

Thinking he could maybe get them to stop, he yelled the only word he could think of:
"Flash!"

Suddenly, the man in yellow stopped, having heard Matt call the Flash. He punched Barry away using a super powered fist before instantly appearing in front of Matt, lifting him up by his neck.

Man in Yellow: Well isn't this a surprise? Who are you supposed to be? A concerned citizen?

With a raspy voice Matt joked, "Me?" coughs "No. I'm the costume police. There's a 50 dollar fine for people wearing piss-colored onesies."

The man in yellow angrily punched Matt in the gut twice before sending him flying out of the house with a kick, and, running at a speed faster than the human eye can blink, caught him by his shirt in midair before slamming him back into the ground.

Matt: "Gah!" coughs up a small amount of blood, before slowly standing back up and dusting himself off.

"You know, you're not the only one who can do that," he said before delivering a few super speed punches of his own, sending the man across the yard.
However, the man got up almost immediately, and sped over to Matt once again, bewildering the young man.

Man in Yellow: "So...you have access to the Speed Force as well. How did you get access to this power, I wonder? Eh, it doesn't matter. You're about to die anyway."

Matt: "Hey, what's that supposed to-GAAAAH"

*Matt suddenly gets hit multiple times in the face and torso before being slammed onto the ground. He is then kicked in the stomach with such force that it sends him flying into a nearby tree, gasping for air.
Still on the ground, he says:

Matt: pant "Ow!...Okay...a couple of questions: First off, who even are you anyway? How are you this fast? And, more importantly, why do you look like a discount version of the Flash?"

Man in yellow: "I am not the Flash. However..." With his eyes glowing blood red, the man holds Matt up, and, with his other hand, vibrates it at super speed, ready to phase through his body.
...some would say I'm the Reverse."

Hey guys! Sorry for the super long delay. College has been hell lately, what with finals coming up soon. I'll have part 4 out in a bit. It may introduce some characters you don't know that well. They aren't from any comics or anything, but I promise to try to make it as interesting as possible for ya.

In the meantime, I'll see you later!
