The Gold I've Lost

We never know what we had was gold until it's all gone.
We tend to treasure what we want instead of what we have.
All we saw was dust but not stardust.
Once it's gone, we find it hard to find something similar.

You forget to tie a knot to keep the boat at bay,
then you are shocked to see it sail away.
Telling yourself there's plenty fish in the sea,
forgetting that you left the rod on the boat.

Now I find difficult to fish.
I find it difficult to tie a knot.
Difficult to see what's gold.
To love anyone else.

But how could I love another,
when my heart is left with the other.
