Winston had felt as if chains were pulling him down, his lungs were aching to get a gasp of air and each time he found the little strength to pull himself up for a breathe the current would just take him under again. He knew that this was the end but all he could think about was her, how he would never get to see her beautiful amber eyes again or her wavy light brown hair. As his last image of her faded away blaring music jolted him awake.
When he opened his eyes Winston clenched at his heart as he felt it pounding in his chest. He had been relieved when he realized that he was only dreaming. As he turned over he squinted his eyes as he saw light filtering through his window. Quickly he reached for his phone to turn the alarm off, but accidentally increased the volume instead. In annoyance he flung his phone across the room, and breathed a deep sigh as the noise subsided.
"Ready or not it's the first day of senior year here I come".
With only five minutes to spare before Lily would be walking by his house like she'd done every school day since kindergarten. Winston jumped up quickly out of bed and raced to get dressed. Throwing on a black shirt he struggled getting his pants up and tripped, he quickly recovered and put his new dark grey converse on. After rushing to get dressed he grabbed his bag and ran out the door.
