Several minutes later, the Resistance leaders had gathered in the landing pad of the Atlantica Ultima.
GreaterA and Fishe - along with SANTACLAWS - had warped on board the Ultima.
"So this will be the command ship." said A, looking at the Vanguard.
The Vanguard was essentially a smaller version of the Atlantica Ultima. Instead of being a giant dreadnought, it was a large cruiser. Able to maneuver quickly and actively evade enemy fire, the Vanguard had been made in case of war. And war had come.
"Yeah. It isn't that impressive compared to the Ultima but it's still big" said Hydrium.
"I will give you that" said A.
"We should probably enter into this ship. Poseidon is already in there - along with many of our forces" said SANTACLAWS - floating towards the door
"Truly" replied A, as they walked into the Vanguard. Fishe and Hydrium followed shortly afterwards.
The inside of the Vanguard was similar to most Trident Foundation ships - a main corridor with doors that led to the personal quarters, engine room, and all other rooms on the ship. Eventually, the group reached the very end of the corridor - within which was the bridge room.
Sitting on chairs at the bridge room were Ank and Poseidon. "You know, it's nice to be back in one of these. I have very fond memories in these" said Ank
"Yes, we all know about the incident with the two Avemi in the Calchinia. I had to powerwash the chairs to get the stains out. There's still a white spot on the commander's chair" said Hydrium
"Ah, so I see that you've arrived" said Poseidon "Have the other ships been equipped?"
"We've equipped every ship meant for combat with basic cannons and a rail gun." said A.
Poseidon then said "So, we're ready to go to Avalon IV?"
A - along with SANTACLAWS - said yes.
Poseidon then turned to Hydrium "Hydrium, I need you to order five Trident Foundation battle cruisers to be sent to Avalon IV."
Hydrium replied with "Will do" and then left for the comms center.
Fishe then added "I have already sent a few remote controlled ships."
"Good" said Poseidon. "Once Hydrium returns we can leave"
Several minutes passed, then Ank said "So... anyone want to take part in mating while we wait?"
A's response was very simple. "No"
Ank said, sadly "Alright..."
That was when Hydrium re-entered. "The Ampheres and Cetus have already departed, and the Polyphemus is to leave soon"
"So, we're ready to depart for Avalon" said Poseidon
"The Ul*shal and Despondus should be right behind us." said A.
"Good. Hydrium, turn on the engines and set a course for the Avalon system"
"On it" said Hydrium, walking towards the pilot's seat.
A few minutes later, the doors of the landing pad opened up and the Vanguard floated out of them. Some time after that, the ship turned on its engines and turned towards Avalon. The journey of several thousand light-years began
Several cubeoids later, the Vanguard was within one light-century of Avalon.
A had been checking the portable communicator they somehow carried on their person. "The probe ships are almost at Avalon IV."
