Blue eyes this time

"Cheri"

The morning dove played its beautiful melody in the wind, the wind itself dragging the song along for all to hear.

Just like how I was listening to it that morning, it was a fairly normal morning. I was sitting outside waiting until my mother brought me my breakfast before school.

But it was by no means an uneventful morning. For one I had an unexpected visitor, and secondly, I never ended up having breakfast.

I had been staring at the sun rising up over the neighboring building when he dropped down in front of me. Of course when you aren't suspecting to have anyone fall in front of you you should react, which I did.

At the sight of a being suddenly in front of me I fell backwards, feeling the need to step away in case it was dangerous.

Strong arms caught me around the waist ensuring I didn't fall to the ground. "Apologies Ms. Cheng, it was not of my intentions to startle you", Chat noir apologized.

He pulled me up and made sure I had a secure foot hold before letting go. "It's quite all right Chaton, I needed to be woken up a bit anyway", I joked.

He smiled that silly grin he always pulled on me during patrols, that grin said he had something funny to say, or what he thought was funny anyway.

"Ahh Cheri was still sleep walking I see, I better watch you more closely from now on, we can't have such a fine lady walk into the streets at night now can we?", he joked, but I knew he was being lightly serious.

"Minet you know I don't sleep walk, if anyone does it's you, with your magical ring and all, I bet 10 euros you sleep walk to my house to check on me!", I exclaimed, winking of course.

I noticed his blush rise, slowly creeping up his exposed neck. "Ahh so the little lady thinks I sleep walk?", he grinned again, but this time a grin that made him look so smug, sure of himself, and it looked like I was going to lose 10 euros.

"I only checked on you once during the night, and that was after that akuma you helped me defeat while Ladybug was dealing with her own problems Cheri, if I did sleep walk, it certainly is not in the suit and all over Paris", Chat explained, soooo sure of himself.

"What about tonight Minet, you won't come tonight?", I gave him puppy eyes as a joke but he seemed to take it seriously.

He frowned lightly, playing with the tips of his claws. "I wish I could come tonight Cheri, but this superhero has events going on underneath the mask", he grinned, bowing to me.

"Soon Cheri, soon!", he leapt up onto my roof leaping away.

"Better be soon Minet!", i yelled back, hoping he'd hear me.

I froze as I realized what I had done, had I just..... asked him over? I sighed and flailed dramatically into a sitting position on the ground.

The doves song still echoing in my mind.

"I'm telling you Nino this whole thing started as just getting coffee, now this is practically a date with Marinette! I don't want her to get the wrong idea", Adrien was flailing his hands around in the store while explained on FaceTime to his best bud, who was not getting the memo.

"I'm telling you bro, Marinette will be fine, she knows it was originally supposed to be a hangout for all of us, it's not her fault she was the only one that could go", Nino sympathized with the poor blond. After all, he was extremely blind, and very dense so it took almost no covering up at all for Nino to convince him that Marinette would be fine.

In reality he was worried about Marinette, it was hard knowing that one of his best friends was in love with his closest friend and that the two didn't feel the same about each other.

"Your right Nino, but like should I get her something? I don't want it to come across as yanno, but I want to get her something", Adrien whined into the phone.

Nino chuckled but also visibly winced. These two could not send any less mixed signals. "Just get her something personal but don't over do it", Nino suggested.

Adrien frowned while scanning the party aisle in a nearby store. "Your so helpful genius", Adrien scoffed.

Suddenly a loud crash came from the phone and Adrien jerked up at surprise but within seconds had the phone back in it's original position, staring intently, waiting for any assurance there wasn't an akuma.

"CHRIS WHAT DID YOU DO?!", blared through the phone and Adrien laughed hanging up the phone and shooting Nino a text to call him back later.

He had walked down a few aisles and so far had nothing. He had already been to three stores without finding anything that wouldn't be too over bearing.

While he was looking at a suspiciously low priced roll of red ribbon a flash of black caught his eye.

Looking over to his right he noticed a black cat trailing towards him, slowly, the cat almost seemed human.

Adrien watched in silence, registering that the cat was indeed there but was frozen in place as he watched it stroll past.

As soon as it left the aisle he bolted after it, searching the whole store but it's like it had vanished, there wasn't a footprint on the floor for proof.

"I must be imagining things", Adrien reasoned with himself, scratching his head. "Imagining what?", a girl asked.

Her hair strikingly similar to Marinette's, but much longer pigtails, and her ribbons seeming to touch the floor. Otherwise she wore a basic white collared tshirt and gray blazer with cuffed jean shorts. She had a red umbrella dangling from her wrist, along with a small coin purse in the same hand.

"Um nothing!", Adrien replied, flustered. "I just thought I saw something", he replied nervously.

"By the way I'm Adrien", he greeted, putting his hand out. The stranger took it, shaking it, but Adrien could just barely feel her hand making contact at all.

"Call me Bri".
