Fae's POV

"Put some elbow into it!" Silver yelled at Jim and I as we were tasked with pulling out all of the bits of alien barnacles attached to the bottom of the ship.

'This is going to take forever' I sighed internally. Jim also sighed.

Next, we were sitting around in the kitchen, peeling potatoes.

I looked up into the sun peeking through from the top deck as I peeled, my mind wandering.

I am a question to the world
Not an answer to be heard
Or a moment
That's held in your arms

{Flashback Third Person's POV}

A young Fae was waddling along, her parents holding both of her hands to support her as she walked.

(Third Person POV)

Fae was listening intently to Silver's lesson as he taught them how to tie a proper knot.

She of course had already been taught this by Silver, but he made her stick with him and Jim anyway.

Jim looked incredibly bored and rolled his eyes. As Silver was droning on, he tied his own knot and climbed down, walking along the edge of the ship.

Fae watched him go sadly, wanting to follow him.

And what do you think you'd ever say
I won't listen anyway
You don't know me
And I'll never be what you want me to be

Silver then showed off his not very well tied knot and then looked in shock, realising Jim had already walked off.

Jim then remembered and came back, gesturing for Fae to come down with him.

Her face lit up slightly and she looked at Silver for approval as he examined Jim's knot, which was better done than his.

Silver then nodded and and slowly climbed down and Jim extended his hand. She grabbed onto it and stepped down onto the deck. They walked along, talking as he walked along the edge.

————————————————
Fae and Jim were scrubbing the floors of the deck by hand.

Silver suddenly walked up to them with a mischievous look on his face.

Jim then stood up and glared at him before Silver slammed a bucket into his hands and pointed at a spot for him to do.

And what do you think you'd understand?
I'm a boy, no, I'm a man
You can take me and throw me away

Jim threw the contents of the bucket onto the ground and began to scrub more. Fae wiped the sweat from her forehead and moved over to help him as Silver walked away.

She knelt down in front of him and began to scrub the wooden deck.

She gave Jim a small smile of encouragement and he looked up at her. He loosened up and a slight smile crept onto his face.
