Killua tossed aside the hair and stomach of another human, that was his 15th today. He retreated back to his cave and sat down, tail flicking. It had been two more months, Killua felt himself getting steadily stronger. The strength wasn't physical, it was more awareness and skill. He had also started to develop a blood demon art, although it was still weak and not very effective.
Killua's claws could ooze blood, if that blood mixed with the blood of another creature it would suffer odd effects. His goal was to create some sort of poison, but so far he could just get a little restriction of movement he thought but it was hard to tell for sure if there were any other effects. His ears flicked, contemplating his next course of action. What if I...kidnap a human? It seemed to be the most effective way to practice. A demon who was scared of him would tell him what they thought he wanted to hear or try to run, but a human with no escape would be honest right? So he closed his eyes, and waited.
"W-What the hell?!?" It was nightfall and Killua found a female of about 16 with black hair and blue eyes just walking through a forest. Killua wasn't too sure how to get this human to trust him, or at least not run away. She took a step back, a confused and scared expression on her face. Killua glanced around and then brought a hand down on her pressure point to knock her out. Killua brought her back to his cave, the sun was rising. He caught sight of a boar fleeing into the undergrowth and snagged it as well, humans ate meat. Once he made it back to the cave he laid her up against the wall near the back, then skinned the boar with his claws and started cooking the meat.
20 minutes later she woke back up again, as soon as she did she gasped and tried to back away from him only to hit the wall behind her. Killua grabbed the stick that the skewered boar meat was on and offered it to her. "Humans eat meat right?" She paused, eyes landing on the food. Killua made his face at least intimidating as possible, projecting an air of curiosity and kindness. He wasn't sure why he knew how to do it, it just came naturally. "W-What...are you?" The girl asked in half fear half awe, eyes trailing over his ears and horn. He held out the stick a little further before answering, she took it and hesitantly bit into the meat. "Mh" Killua sat down cross legged in the center of the pointed stones, tail curling around his legs. "Demon"
Her eyes widened, "Don't they...eat people?" Hmmm....excuse. "Bad people" She frowned slightly, "Then why did you kidnap me?" the girl asked, getting more talkative now that she had a reason to believe that the creature before her was not currently hostile. Killua's ears flicked, then he thought about the words he wanted to say. "New ability, hard to test effects on demons. Need feedback" She froze, tensing up a little. "Ability? Will it kill me?" Killua blinked, then shook his head. "No. Slow body I think" he sharpened a claw, then let her watch as the blood oozed out of the tip. "Small prick maybe" She bit her lip, looking unsure. Killua shrugged. "I mean, other demons might attack." He pointed from her and then to him as he spoke. "You help me, I protect you. Can leave when done" Lie, can't let her tell other humans or demon slayers about me.
"O-Oh...alright I guess" She said, rubbing the back of her head. Then she took the last bite of the cooked boar meat. "I'm Hera. What's.... I mean, what should I call you? Do demons even have names?" Killua's tail flicked, and a word came to his head. He'd heard other demons calling him that. "Shiyajū" Hera gulped, looking a little nervous. "Oh uh...ok. So...how's this gonna work?" Killua sharpened a claw again, then gestured for her to come over with a tail flick. Hera still looked nervous, but she knew she didn't have a choice. She walked over and sat down, then held her arm out. Killua pressed the bloody claw down into her arm and she flinched slightly with a wince. He drew back his hand and she blinked. "So...what was supposed to happen?"
Killua frowned slightly, "Feel nothing?" She glanced down at her arm. "I don't feel any differe- Woah!" She tried to sit on her legs and ended up falling sideways. Killua's ears pricked. "Worked?" That was very quick. She sat back up, then flexed her arms and rolled her shoulders. "That caught me off guard, my body feels kind of heavy, it's harder to move." He hummed for a moment, then pinched a little at her arm. Hera winced slightly, then blinked. "That didn't hurt as much as I thought it would" Killua's eyes gleamed, and he flexed his claws a little. Maybe I shouldn't go with a poison, just something to immobilize with. The human would die if it tried that, and I need feedback. This was going quite well.
About a week passed, Killua was getting tired of this human. He left at night to go feed, then when he came back they'd test and alter his blood demon art. After that, Hera would try to talk to him and ask him questions. Before she went to sleep. He didn't know how much longer he could go without sinking his teeth into her vocal chords to shut her up. "So, can you use that tail of yours to lift things or-" Killua's tail lashed in irritation and he shot a glare at her. Hera paused, then looked confused and kind of nervous. "Why talk?" She rolled her eyes, then gestured to the cave around them. "There's literally nothing to do, I'm slowly going insane talking to myself. Well, I was trying to talk to you but you don't seem to respond all that much" Killua blinked. "Do...sit?" He said, frowning slightly.
Hera furrowed her eyebrows a little. "You just...sit? All day?" Killua blinked again. "Yes" She sighed, the grumbled "You don't let me leave the cave, at least you could bring me something to do in here" Killua actually liked that idea. If he brought her something to do, then she'd stop annoying him. "Item? What?" Her eyes lit up, then she spoke almost instantly. "A deck of cards and a few books please. Actually, maybe 4. yeah, for decks of cards and a handful of books. Oh! And some paper and pencils" Killua tilted his head slightly. "Cards?" Hera sighed. "If you don't know what they are don't bother, I'll be happy with the paper, pencils, and books" Killua glanced outside, by the position of the moon he had 3 hours left until daybreak. "Alright"
Killua actually found a few more items then what was said, maybe if he brought her more she'd be more quiet. For some reason she slept about 4 hours after daybreak and for about 9 hours. Killua was pretty sure humans slept during the night, perhaps it was the weird conflicting schedule of a nocturnal 'guardian'. He got a box full of hundreds of papers and about 20 pencils which he carried in one arm, a stack of 5 books in the other. His tail held a few small paperlike boxes and a strange item that he didn't know the use for.
Killua set down the items in Hera's corner of the cave. It wasn't that she was confined there, she just liked to sit against a particular cleft in the rock wall. Her jaw dropped at all the items. "Woah! You found some cards, that's like 6 decks" then she grabbed the odd item. "And a kendama, man. Now I really won't be bored. Thanks Shiyajū!" Killua didn't respond, sitting down between the 5 pointed stones cross legged like always. Finally, quiet.
