"Don't worry you will understand everything after I run some tests on you." I said as I guided her toward a chair. She sat down and I started with the simple test. I was about to continue but her continuously looking at me made me feel nervous.
"Could you please stop looking at me? I can't focus." I said.
"I'm sorry, it just still feels surreal that you're alive."
"I know, I have felt it too before."
I took out the metallic crown and I put it on her, I adjusted everything on the computer so that it was her memory. I instructed her to close her eyes and to relax, once she did, I started the program.
After some minutes, she woke up again with tears in her eyes and looked at me in the eyes.
"Ji yeong." She said in a whisper. Then she quickly hugged me.
I hugged her back, her embrace was warm, it felt like a dream.
"I'm so thankful, this was only a game and you're not really dead." I pulled back from the hug, looking her in the eyes.
"Oh, since when did we become so close?" I said laughing.
"Oh shut up and hug me." She said smiling and I complied happily.
Unfortunately that warm embrace came to an end when she pulled away.
"I missed you Ji yeong." She smiled. "After all you're my friend, even though I don't always show it, I really like you." My heart skipped a beat at her comment, even though she had just previously friendzoned me.
We chatted for a little more but we eventually had to stop when one of our superiors asked us to go back and work. I wish we could chat more but as he said we had more important priorities right now.
We went back to our respective desk and started working on the project.
After a few minutes, I quickly got distracted by Sae byeok's presence next to me. I turned my head toward her, she was concentrated, looking at the monitor and from time to time she wrote something on a notebook.
How could she be so beautiful?
I sighed, feeling sad that I will never get the chance to be with her. She already had so many people who had a crush on her here and I bet that she had even more outside of work, but somehow she was still single.
"Are you gonna keep looking at me all day long? Not that I mind." She chuckled.
I looked away flustered.
"I was just looking at what you were doing." I lied.
"Yeah, sure and I have superpower." She mocked me.
"Okay, I was looking at you. I don't see what is so wrong with looking at my friend that I haven't seen for awhile." I defended myself.
"I must be really pretty for you to be looking at me for such a long time." She said, making me blush.
"Oh, shut up. You already know you are pretty"
"Maybe, but I'm not as pretty as you." She smiled and I started blushing even more.
What's she trying to do!? Is she flirting with me!?
I was going to respond but we got interrupted again by one of our superiors.
"Will you two stop flirting and start working."
I rolled my eyes and responded. "Yes, boss."
"Flirting as if." I said under my breath.
Before going back to work, Sae byeok winked at me.
I turned back toward the monitor, flustered.
I need to calm down, it doesn't mean anything.
Seriously, what is wrong with her?
She is usually so serious and sometimes teases me but never to that point. Maybe I messed up something with her memories.
