Carrie's mind was racing. She had to get out of this place. She tensed her leg muscles but they were chained to the wall. The moldy cabin floor creaked as her kidnapper returned. His heavy footsteps thundered into the tiny room where Carrie was held. She cowered against the wall as the bright light seeped in. The captor breathed a sigh of relief and left the room again.
She couldn't try to escape now. He would see. Carrie laid down by the wall to try and sleep, but was interrupted by the man returning with some bird seed.
" Just because I have wings like a bird, doesn't mean I eat like one," Carrie spat. The man knelt down next to her and said, "So you can talk, eh?"
"Of course I can talk. I am a human."
"Oh if only you were," he looked at her with fake sympathy. "Eat up little girl. Now that you are talking, I can get some answers out of you."
The man slowly got up and shut the door behind him. Carrie picked through the bird seed, only eating what looked edible. Soon after, she fell into a deep sleep and the man came and carried her to the larger room. He sang her soft lullabies to her and waited for her to awake.
