2. Bombshell

Bakit nandito siya?

I kept distracting myself by playing with whatever I was tapping on my phone. Sinisiguro ko lang naman na hindi magtatama ang tingin namin ni Damien dahil alam ko at dama ko ang pasimpleng pasulyap-sulyap niya sa akin mula pa kanina hanggang ngayon.

Gosh, I literally regretted coming over here.

"Aimiah, bakit ang tahimik mo?" Tracy asked, dahilan para wala sa sarili akong napaangat ng ulo.

"Uhh . . ."

I almost panicked when I saw Damien in my peripheral vision. I bet he's annoyingly smirking at me now. Gosh, I couldn't form any words in my mouth.

"I, uhm, nothing." I winced.

Akala ko ay kakalma na ako after my weird behavior. However, my ears throbbed when I just heard Damien chuckle.

Hinigpitan ko tuloy ang paghawak sa phone ko para lang pigilan ang sariling sulyapan siya. He was sitting on the other side of this table, somewhat farther away from me---which wasn't enough distance, by the way. Katabi niya si Tracy na siya namang kaharap ko ngayon at kanina ko pang napapansing lumalandi kay Damien. Meanwhile, Hazel was awkwardly sitting beside me, also facing Damien.

"Girl, zip it," pagpapatahimik ni Hazel kay Tracy.

I believed she understood my weird situation because, first of all, she was my best friend. But most importantly, may kasalanan din siya sa kung bakit ito nangyayari sa akin ngayon.

"Why?" Tracy puzzled.

I rolled my eyes.

Tracy and I weren't that close because I couldn't handle very nosy people like her. Hazel was just too much of a nice and friendly girl, like, literally being friends with everyone. That could be why they were still getting along even though I heard Tracy was a bitch to Jeanne. Well, masyado rin kasing mabait and neutral si Hazel e.

I saw Hazel's eyes widen in response, so she finally fell silent. However, she didn't stop trying to flirt with Damien. She used those fake, cute laughs along with weak slaps on Damien's shoulder. She even tucked her hair behind one ear, thinking it showcased her best side.

I know this well because I'm an expert in flirting. If only I could witness Damien's reaction to Tracy's flirting, so I could rate her and offer the free tips I know she'll need.

"So, Aimiah, I heard that you scored the highest on your test kanina."

Suddenly, my heart skipped a beat.

He was talking to me.

Mariin akong napapikit dahil sa pinaghalong inis at kabang nararamdaman. Even Hazel and Tracy fell silent, as if they were also waiting for my response as I kept talking to my inner self.

Come on, Aimiah. You can do it. Parang si Damien lang 'yan e.

Minulat ko na ang mata ko sabay diretsyahang nakipagtitigan kay Damien. I smirked at him back as if what he was doing now wasn't affecting me at all.

"Of course, that's what hot girls do," I answered naturally based sa kung paano ako kinikilala ng iba.

"Here we go again." Hazel groaned and continued eating her snacks.

Looked like my natural response worked. Ngayon naman ay kailangan kong mas panindigan pa. My smirk turned into a smile before I slowly placed my phone on the table. Damien raised his eyebrow at me, still annoyingly smirking.

I just needed to act natural and unaffected. So I continued.

"And how did you know, anyway? Aha! You stalked me! I knew it! You're a stalker!"
