A Shin Soukoku Story (Akutagawa x Atsushi)

Chapter 1: Old Aqquantinces

It started off a normal day in the Armed Detective agency. Ranpo eating snacks, Yosano checking her tools, Kunikida working like there's no tomorrow, and Dazai avoiding work. There was a somewhat peaceful feel in the air during that moment. Until Dazai's phone started to ring. He checked the caller ID and saw that it was none other than the President of the Armed Detective Agency. After seeing that he answered in a serious tone "Hello President, Is there a problem?".

The President told Dazai "Not an urgent one, but I'd like you to inform Atsushi that he has an upcoming mission with Akutagawa."

After hearing those words Dazai showed the biggest shit eating grin but then responded "Any further details on the mission?".

The President told him "As far as to our knowledge, they'll be going up against an unknown ability user and their gang. They've been growing slowly they don't seem much threat to us but they've been effecting some of the Port Mafia's weapons loads, and their boss requested the new double black to investigate the case."

Dazai looked over the situation for a moment, he told the President "Well I assure you that they'll be on the case as soon as requested, but when will it be and where?"

The President then informed him that they'd be going to a warehouse within Port Mafia territory in the next few hours. After that Dazai said he'd have to return back to work and ended the call. Now he was about to go and find Atsushi until the boy himself stepped back in from a case with Tanizaki. Atsushi was about to head back to doing paperwork, until Dazai called him "Atsushi-kuunn~" he said in a playful yet ominous tone.

Atsushi knew that meant Dazai was up to something and that sent a chill down his spine but all he could do was respond "Y-Yes Dazai-san?"

"Well Atsushi-kun I'd like to tell you that you have a new case that your working on, and you better go prepare now!" Dazai informed the boy.

"Is there any details I should know?" Atsushi asked.

"Yes there will be a gang and an unknown ability user, but not to worry we'll be sending you in with help!" Dazai assured Atsushi.

Atsushi questioned Dazai's idea of "help" after being pushed in front of plenty of dangers by him. Before he could say anything Dazai chirped in and said "The President said so~"

Atsushi knew he couldn't deny a case that was assigned to him by the President. He sighed in defeat and went to go prepare for his mission. Dazai waved gooodbye and went back to lounging on the waiting room couch avoiding work with a devious smirk on his face.

Time Skip due to me being lazy and still having 20 different assignment to do ⏭

Atsushi was on his way to the meeting point with the supposed "help". Once he arrived he saw a familiar black coat and the recognizable black hair with white tips. As soon as Atsushi saw him he made an immediate U-turn and started to head back to the Agency. He was unsuccessful because when he looked down he saw Rashomon around his ankles and torso keeping him from moving. Before he could say anything the other stepped closer and asked him "And where do you think your going?"

Atsushi tried squirming out of Rashomon's grasp but was still unsuccessful, he gave in and told him "I was supposed to meet up with someone regarding a case, but I ran into yo-". Atsushi was cut of by Rashomon wrapping around his mouth.

Before Atsushi could try and get out Rashomon Akutagawa spoke saying "What do you mean ran into me, we're supposed to be on this case together didn't Dazai-san inform you of that or were you just to idiotic to understand simple orders?" Atsushi muffled out some unrecognizable words, Akutagawa took Rashomon off his mouth seeing that the other couldn't speak.

Atsushi then repeated "First off Dazai-san didn't tell me anything about meeting up with you, he only told me that there would be "help" and to meet them here. And Second off I'M NOT AN IDOIT!" Akutagawa only rolled his eyes, but he knew his mentor far to well to know that what Atsushi was saying was probably the truth.

So Akutagawa dropped the weretiger back on his feet and out of Rashomon's grasp. Atsushi rubbed around his jaw where Rashomon once was and shook of the weird feeling, surprisingly it wasn't as bad as the last time Rashomon was roughly wrapped around him and practically squeezing all his bones. He wonders why that is, Maybe it's because he's to tired to use his full ability on him? Before the younger male could lead on with his theories he was snapped out of his thoughts by someone calling him "Jinko!"

"AGGHH WHAT?!?!?" Atsushi shouted after being interrupted from his thoughts.

"Why the hell are you shouting? Maybe you should stop spending so much time in you head and actually pay att-" and like that Atsushi was already lost in his thoughts ignoring the older's ranting once again.

He wonders why would Dazai-San not inform him of how his "help" is none other than Akutagawa! This is AKUTAGAWA we're talking about the same guy who chopped of his leg and just coughed like nothing even happened. He's basically the devil incarnate. Maybe even worse.

Before Atsushi could think any worse about the other, he felt something hard hit the top of his head. "OW what was that for?" He winced in pain.

Akutagawa rolled his eyes hearing the stupid were-tigers questions. "It's because SOMEONE keeps ignoring me and just keeps getting caught up in their own thoughts to even remember why we're here in the first place!"

And with that Atsushi snapped away all those thoughts about Akutagawa being evil or how he loosen up a bit or anything else. He got straight up and hesitantly agreed "You're right, let's get back on track with the mission."

Akutagawa with to little energy for sarcasm just said "Let's go then." And walked off with a Jinko trailing behind.
