A Shin Soukoku Story (Akutagawa x Atsushi)

Chapter 4: One Long Week

Akutagawa was on his way out of the medical area leaving Atsushi to rest and Yosano to continue monitoring his vitals and report any changes that might happen when he leaves out to find the mysterious figure.

He reached out to grab the doorknob, but before he could leave the room he heard a voice behind him. "Wait..." Atsushi woke up and was looking at Akutagawa reaching out towards him.

Akutagawa went wide eyed seeing as he thought Atsushi wouldn't wake up for a while. He turned around to see an equally shocked Yosano and a drowsy were-tiger starring at him with pleading eyes basically begging him to stay.

After seeing his face, looking into those eyes, he had no other option but to stay. He walked over and sat next to Atsushi simply just starting at him as if everything was normal.

They both locked eyes for a good moment and in that moment Akutagawa was able to see Atsushi's eyes shimmed a light pink color. Strange. Maybe it was just his imagination playing tricks on him.

Yosano still stood their shocked seeing that Atsushi was awake despite supposed to be sleep for at least a few more hours. She went over to Atsushi to ask him how he felt and if he had any issues, especially in his lungs where they found that weird substance.

But he just completely ignored her like she was a phantom. "Hello? Earth to Atsushi!" She waved her hand in front of Atsushi, he did not budge an inch. His eyes still locked on Akutagawa.

Akutagawa noticed this and tried to ask him if he needed anything since Yosano wasn't having much luck. "Hey Jinko, you feeling alright?"

"Couldn't be better~" he responded almost immediately. Yosano was in complete shock seeing as Akutagawa only had to ask once to get a reaction out of the boy. Akutagawa was shocked too, not because he responded, but how he responded. That tone. It was so playful and teasing at the same time. He's never heard Atsushi remotely sound anything like this.

"Shouldn't you let Yosano finish checking up on you incase anything is wrong?" Akutagawa asked.

Atsushi seemed to completely ignore Akutagawa's worry and just say "Why worry about that, I'm fine as long as I have you Ryuu-kun~" he embraced Akutagwa in another hug almost as tight as earlier when he arrived at the Agency. Wait..DID HE JUST CALL HIM "Ryuu-Kun"!!! AND IN THAT TONE AGAIN?!

Akutagawa was beyond confused. He felt Atsushi cuddle up more to him in the hug, but nothing was registering in his brain at the moment. His head was in a whole different world at that point.

He was only snapped out of it when he heard Atsushi purr against him. That had him flinch. Before he could say anything he saw Yosano walking out the door just saying "I'm out." Before shutting the door behind her. She wanted to get out of there before anything else weird happened.

Akutagawa tried pulling the were-tiger off of him. Again like earlier he had no luck. He just sighed in defeat and just accepted the were-tiger holding on to him. He felt the other rubbing patterns on his back and before he knew it he was already falling asleep.

About an hour later he woke up with a Jinko sitting on top of his lap, head pressed against his chest while purring softly matching his breath. It truly was a cute sight. Akutagawa just started at him for a moment soaking up the beauty of Atsushi. That was until he heard a camera click and flash. He was frozen in shock. Slowly turning his head to see a smiling bandage wasting suicidal woman loving bi in denial nightmare standing right in front of him holding his phone. At this point Akutagawa's eyes were wide in shock.

"Did you sleep well dear Akutagawa-kun~. I can see you must have with little Atsushi-Kun in your lap~" Dazai said while snickering you himself.

At this point Akutagawa was already shaking slightly with rage. If it weren't for the sleeping Jinko in his lap he would have already hit Dazai square in the jaw. "I hate you." He stated bluntly while looking away from him.
